re: you would have to invite the fire department to put out the blaze of candles!
hay I'm 3 BX23S minutes from the local volunteer firehall, so they KNOW where I am ! I also plowed the whole driveway last snowstorm as city doesn't even plow the ROAD ! Seems my tax dollars got spent buying $30K tiny homes , made in CHINA, instead......
Fire chief wears many hats including farming ! Great guy

Actually like I said, I think it was price gouging by Costco because no other brands went up. Companies panick and raise prices on stock they have. They never drop back down either.
You eat possums from a can up there 😲 I thought Poutaine was the worst thing north of the border but that possum has it topped 🫣.
oh no.... for me poutine is far from the worst.

Canned stuff is worse. A real staple around these parts but still don't like it cause when winter sets in getting to town can be a rarity so lots and lots of canned stuff like potted meat w/ spotted dick eaten off the back of a tractor or grader or snowmobile or whatever the d-jour task had us doing . Zip the top off, break out your pocket knife, spread on a cracker of piece of bread and call it a meal.

think of potted meat being SPAM's really really poor distant cousin.

Real story... I was living in town about 50 years ago and I had a friend who forgot to get Halloween Candy. ReaLIZED he had a few dozen cases of potted meat in his basement so he gave them out instead. (Around here its common to keep a few cans in glove boxes/tool boxes/etc... cause you just never know if you have to spend a night out and can't get home because of storm or mechanical breakdown) so having a few of these nuclear proof/stable little cans and a few crackers helps sustain over night).
So back to story he hands out potted meat instead of candy. Each kid gets a can. Next morning he wakes up a finds dozen of cans of the stuff thrown over his fence into his backyard. City kids had no appreciation!!

ahhhh.......ok....... sure 2 Canadians started Tim Hortons but today almost 0 Canadian ownership. Its a Brazilian and American company. Bought out years and years ago.

Rest. Brands (Brazilian) is the owner of Tim Hortons and the biggest investor in them is is Capital World (which is American). gotta blame American investors or Brazilian owners me think.

So if price goes up we kinda have to blame either the Brazilians or Americans????

we Canadians shouldn't take the blame. Sure we drink the coffee, eat the bagel, give away the Tim Bits at work but to blame us is not fair.

Cheers!! ;)
Yep and Tim Horton, a famous hockey player, for whom the store was named, never got to see it become what it is today, and I Dunkin Doughnuts owns most of Timmy's now

Its funny, like a covid flash back, I was at Sams to get a few things,, I never come out of Sams with just a few things,,, Anywyas it was like last time, people loaded with stuff, canned meats boxes of coffee, anything that might be effected by the supposed tariffs. 3 or 4 big packs f TP and paper towels, coffee by the cart load, cases of canned goods. I asked the casher at the check out, she said it has been like that since the news came out. Even the beer store and state store were packed. I really dont understand people
