No Heat!

So I had the opposite of this issue a couple years back where I would get heat all the time when I tried running the AC or even just the fan.
I was told I had a failed heater valve and instead of finding and fixing it, I put a ball valve in one of the heater lines and used that to turn of the heat and was able to again get cold air.
Now, 2 years later, I get no heat. Yes I opened the ball valve to allow heat flow but all I get is cold air output and my temp gauge shows engine temp up to normal.
Where do I start looking? Could this be a problem with the climate control or temp switch or something in the heater itself?

heater core is plugged up ??
can't be the 'controls' as you put a manual ball valve in the line.
hmm you did remove the 'failed heater valve' ?

Feel the hoses and see if there hot on both sides of the valve. Possible with no flow through the line for 2 yrs that there's air in the line somewhere before the heater core.

Check the original valve to see if it has closed or remains open.

You may have removed the original valve so the above suggestion may be moot.

I would pull the heater output line and see if you are getting any flow.... this will help narrow down whther its a flow issue (plugged line/plugged core/bad valve) or a temp problem (bad stat or other)

I have not removed the heater valve and don't know exactly where to find it.
The M has the ac/heat unit under the seat so at least it is somewhat accessible as my old L4630 had it under the roof.
Too darn cold for tinkering right now and the tractor is too tall to get through the shop door.
I have been bundling up for powing and at least I am out of the weather.
Spring should be here any day now
