The filter head was mangled and you had if "repaired".

The hose in the suction pipe was punctured and you replaced it.

Your dipstick is missing and you don''t even know how much oil is in the sump.

You have a lot of questionable things going there. Do as @PoTreeBoy advised and see if you are getting oil and if so how nuch from the pump. If you are getting oil you can measure the flow rate and pressure. Its simple abd definitive. Armed with that information you can make an informed deternination of where to look next.

The filter bracket was repaired appropriately, I had a new end tig welded on by a pipe fitter. It is sealed and checked. The dipstick matches the one that PoTreeBoy graciously sent me a picture of. I had a spare new PS pump so while changing out the last rubber suction hose section to it and its Orings I just changed it out as well. PS is working well now. Still no motion forward or back. Still slow (about half of what I would expect) on the FEL motion.

While you're waiting for a gauge, you can do a quick and easy flow test of the front (implement) pump. Below is a picture of my valve when I had it off. The leftmost ports are P and T, the upper one should be P, coming from the pump discharge. Disconnect this line and place it in a clean container. Start your tractor at a low to medium RPM. You should see a fairly strong flow of fluid, 11 gpm at full throttle. You can't run it long or you'll empty the sump. You can reuse the fluid, assuming it is clean.

The rightmost port, easily seen while sitting on the tractor, is the power beyond port. You can also do the same flow test there, if it's easier. The flow will be from the valve, not the hose, of coutse.

Thanks, I had removed the PB and I had good flow before, but I did not measure it. I noted before that the fluid in the bucket had a lot of air in it, which is what was making me wonder if all of my issues was just air in the system. I changed out the Pioneer couplers at the end of the PB hose as there was a small leak there as well as all of the rubber sump hoses, the Oring at the trans, the Orings at the PS pump (changed it out since I had a brand new one), and I have seen no change in the FEL movement or the movement of the trans. What I did note though is the hydraulic lines (P and PB lines) got very warm even hot within 5 minutes of starting the tractor now, which did not happen before. The only sump related items I have not changed are the two Orings for the front pump. I have the correct bits to take pressure measurements now, but it has been over 100 here for the past few days so I have not been out there. I am assuming the best place to get a pressure measurement is on the P line and the I activate the FEL to an extent to see what the back pressure is on the system?

I always start with the simple things first. Check the suction hose. I've replaced mine a couple times over 20 years--easy to get punctured or worn down from brush. A small leak is a tell-tale sign. Debris could have gotted sucked in your puncture and collect at the connection going to the pump. That is a HD, high GPM pump and I would not automatically assume it would go bad all at once is my point. But it could be failing. Good luck.
Thanks, Thats were I am at. I have been hosing the damn thing down with grease cleaner and looking for any new areas. I don't see anymore leaks, last one was at the pioneer coupler, thats fixed now. I am thinking about the two Orings at the front pump, but will get the pressure measurements first, as I may be replacing it anyway.

Heat indicstes pump pressure and a restriction in the circuit. That will give you the loader symptoms you are getting.

Diagnose as follows. Disconnect the loader PB hose where it connects to the tractor, remove any quick coupler, put the hose in the hydraulic filler, start the tractor, and test the loader.

Allright here is where we are at. I put the gauge on the P side of the FEL controller, and moved the PB hose to the filler. We got warm but not as warm as before. Still 1/2 power/ speed. Dump until blade is perpendicular to the ground and lower the FEL to try and lift front. Max pressure maybe 900 peek then down to 800 PSI. I didn't bucket the fluid from the PB but I did take a look at the stream and it looked clear.

Time to rebuild or replace front pump? What do I make about the back pressure on the PB? I did not try moving the selector to ensure that it was in 3 Point. The backhoe is off. Would that make a difference? If it is in backhoe, then it should just bypass to the tank anyway right?

The pressure with the loader in neutral is zero. The bucket all the way back is about 300.

I assumed the back pressure has to be after the PB since I plugged it back in and it got hot again, then unplugged and it remained warm but not as hot.

I put the gauge between the PB and PB line put the selector in three point and raised it to the max. Pressure started at Zero and built up to 800 on the PB side if that helps.

First of all put that selector in loader position and leave it there!!!

You are missing a fundamental hydraulic concept. What you are measuring is actuator load pressure not max pump pressure.

For example, your three point test. The pressure is zero because the 3pt valve is open to tank. When you raise the 3pt the pressure increases to whatever it takes to raise the arms. Thats way less than max pump pressure. As soon as the arms are up the valve goes back to neutral and pressure returns to zero.

Now back to the bucket and 300 PSI. That number is totally inconsistent with your 3pt measurement. Where was the gauge connected when you measured 300 PSI?

Since you have the PB hose disconnected put the gauge directly on that hose. No tees!!!. Start the tractor snd tell us what pressure you get.

I only have a T right now. I can order up a straight fitting, but wont that dead head the system?

Niw I am even more confused. How are you measurung any of those pressures without a tee?

I think we need to return to step 1 . Post a picture showing how and where the gauge is connected.

I have a Tee I do not have a straight as you said "no Tees" on the PB. I only have the T

Last, is confirmation that I have the right line because I removed it from the tractor and have it directly from the PB to the return at the back.

If you still want I will purchase a cap for the end of the Tee and block off the PB to test if you don't think the back pressure will be an issue. This unit does not have a pop off valve before the return.

OK You can do the same thing by teeing into the PB at the loader valve. Then disconnect the quick disconnects on the hoses that connect to the backhoe. There are check valves in those disconnects, so this will have the same effect as capping the tee on your test gauge. See what pressure you get, don't run it too long.

Note to @TheOldHokie: the L35 loader valve doesn't have a relief valve. The system relief is back near the lift cylinder, I think, in the line before it gets to the loader valve.

Second pic is where the Tee is. I removed the line from the P on the FEL controller and installed the Tee there.
Third pic is the new Pioneer coupler on the PB (some people are concerned for leaks there), and the selector is in BH mode.
Last pic, is confirmation that I have the right line (PB). Since the machine is new to me I verified that the T and PB lines were not reveresed because I removed it from the tractor and have it directly from the PB to the return at the back.

I will put the gauge in the PB line tomorrow and either cap it or use the PB line and uncouple it and get a reading.
