Hello forum. Let me start off by stating it is a outright honor to finally be able to join this forum. I have been a long time lurker. I finally pulled the trigger on a L3800 with loader and backhoe. I don't have larges acres of land but I do have some projects that I could like to do around the house. Where I live in pa we can get good amounts of heavy snow. Being a only child left me taking care of my parents, as well as some aunts who do not have anyone to help them. Multiple shoulder surgeries left me almost with out the use of my left arm and hand.

I originally went in to the Kubota dealer looking at one of those BX25D. As nice of those machines are it was just too small for my needs. My father owns a small plot of land down on the Potomac river in West Virginia. Part of taking care of it is setting up and tearing down the docks yearly, we have 3 sectional pieces each about 4 ft wide and 8 ft long weighing just under 800lb each. At the end of the season they are a absolute hell getting out of the water. The bx was just not strong enough to handle my needs. I was looking at the B3200 but again had reservations about lifting the dock system out of the water. The B3200 is rated at 1065lb at the pivot points. With a set of forks on them doing some quick math the FEL can hold maybe 600. It was just too close for comfort.

I wanted to be on the safe side so we went with the L3800.

Once I get some pictures I'll post them.

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you have things fairly well worked out. Make sure you have 1000lbs of 3-point ballast before you get your tractor close to the lake and docks. It sounds a bit scarey to me. If there is a tree handy, I'd be thinking about a 12,000lb winch as well.

Yeppers welocome,, and I don't think your going to have anything but fun with that beasty ,, Yes do fill the rears or a ballast box when the hoe is off, Just one thing, go slow at first figure out what she will do and how to do it,,, Then you can get a little faster, just slow and easy till you get it all figured out,,, :D

You'll love it. You probably have the same loader I do and it's pretty impressive. Here's a picture of it picking up something that must be approaching the upper limit of its capability. The counterweight that can't be seen is a 6 foot Landpride RFM.

Yes sir. The LA534. I was looking at the BX3300 but the LA504 loader was border line moving those boat docks.

I will snap some picture when it comes in. The backhoe is in transit so it will be a week or so.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum. I just went through the same thought process you did and ended up with the L3800 also. You will be most satisfied. I love the small tractor feel with the extra weight and HP. No regrets here. Good luck and enjoy.

If you do purchase a winch get a strap and snatch block for it. It'll divide your pulling force by half and increase the life of winch and cable. Whoever you buy the winch from will probably try to sell you one anyway. It's a must have IMO

Congrats on the new ride. There is rarely a day when mine sits idle . And things you used to do by hand. Now the machine will do. I love mine....Its not to big. And not to small. Enjoy.
