Greetings from Florida. I just purchased a 2018 with 320 hours. I don't know the machine's history, but it looks to be in great shape. Is there a big thread here somewhere of everything to check and go through when a used machine is acquired?

Get an owner's manual for the machine. Change all fluids and filters with the recommend Kubota parts. The fifty hour service guidelines should tell where and how. Check the torques on lug nuts, loader, and back hoe if installed. There's series on You Tube, DIY My Way or something like that, which has some really good info.

well, you've got 1/3 the hours I have, so it must look NEW !!!

Some of the known things..

1) check oil in front axle(yellow plug, top left of axle).usually 'down a quart' from dealer...
2) pull 'mouse flap' up by treadle pedal and grease the zerk hidden there...
3) grease ALL the Zerks...here,there, everwhere
4) when you want to add lights, blue tape on harness, back left hides the factory bullet connectors
5) add a 'screen' to the fuel inlet spigot ! Mason jar coffee screen or $store sink screen
6) plastic end covers for armrests like to 'vacate the premises'......
7) confirm the overfill cap does have hole to vent
8) check fanbelt tension
9) check rad hose clamps
10) pallet forks are GREAT....

Welcome to the forum,

As Roadworthy said - do some checking for an owners manual - I think if you dig you can find one online.
Also do as GreensvilleJay said.

Another place to check is a youtube video for all the maintenance info

Wow - I am going to like it here indeed. I do not need the machine for any pressing jobs, so I am going to take my time getting familiar. I am not a "wrench" and would like this thing to last a long time.

Thanks so much for the welcome and getting me started.

The owners manual if found here was worth the membership alone!

Try www.kubotabooks.com

You want an operator’s manual and also a Workshop manual (WSM).

Welcome aboard!
Oh my - the WSM I found was 600+ pages and has data on multiple machines. I trust there is a stand-alone for the bx.

Trying to get a shopping list together for when I get it back to the barn.

You REALLY DO need a WSM!
With a WSM, people here on OTT will find it much easier to help you readily solve problems!

Your BX25 is similar to other BX tractors, but specifically built for the backhoe, which changes a couple things.

I think the WSM for just my BX2360 tractor is over 300 pages.

Ops is 165 pages
WSM is 511 Pages

Don't print them just save the file and print pages when needed if needed.
I just throw the WSM's up on a Monitor in my Garage / Shop when I need them.

I misread the model # as BX25.

A BX23S would be similar to the BX2380, except for differences mentioned before; it’s designed to have the backhoe on it, whereas a BX2380 cannot accept a Kubota backhoe.

If you have an electrical problem, it's very helpful to print the wiring diagrams and mark them up with various colored highlighters to trace circuits. Saves a bunch of head scratching. IF you are computer savvy, you can do the same in PDF and then print it out, or take a screenshot and do the highlighting in Paint, then print them out.

There are a lot of good "how to use your tractor" videos on The Tube, too. Tim's Tractor Time is a good one, and Messick's. There are others, too.

Welcome aboard!

dang, just remembered...
#10 ) secure the white(?) 'control' wire on the starter solenoid. The 'spade lug' can wiggle off and you'll wonder WHY it won't start..... I tyrapped it to the big +12 cable....about 800 hrs ago..

gee I never had 'it' to begin with ,so I can't lose 'it' !:)

heck I'm really upset over the 'minor train wreck and ensuing fire in Ohio.

However it should have been #11, 10 was the forks..

My BX23S wouldn't start and I finally SAW the control wire HANGING in the air, this after towing it home, calling the dealer.I'll go check the wire colour bur reconnecting the 'faston' made it all better. The tyrap, though maybe not needed has kept the connection secure since then .

Welcome, saw your story over on the "scary gun" site and I'd say you got a good deal.
What part of FL are you in?
I ordered my L2501 WSM on ebay, and found an older Kubota WSM binder there as well. I prefer to have the hard copy to use when doing work.

Everyone is telling me to get forks! Why do I want forks? Handy with pallets and probably mulch turning, but where else do they shine?

I'm old school, and like manual that are paper, although I also have the owners manual and Workshop manuals. Being old school, i felt I had to have the paper owners manual for my BX tractor so I purchased it through Messicks. It wasn't cheap as it was over $50, but it was crystal clear print, and bound, as well as it was printed on both sides of the page. For the workshop manual I printed it out myself. Also I also keep a small NAPA charger hooked up during winter months. I recently had two days of minus 20. I didn't need to use the tractor, but I think it helped after the intense cold was over.
