Good day gents. I run a small demolition and land clearing company in South Florida been doing this for about four years and absolutely love it, except for the machine downtime! I recently purchased a 2017 SVL95-2. I purchased it from an auction in non-running condition. The listing stated that it had an electrical problem not a fire just an electrical problem. Finally got delivered the machine and went into diagnosing. Turned the ignition on and light turned on and I got a loud buzzing sound coming out of the back right corner of the machine about four seconds later the machine went dead. I was able to locate where the sun was coming from and it is the glow relay next to the ECU. I was told that more than likely one of the hot leads running into the glow really had a short so I open the harness and trace the wire back to the fuel heater. After opening the harness I turn the ignition back on and the buzzing went away and was able to get the machine to turn over. It would still not fire off so I went into diagnosing the fuel system from my diagnostic the fuel system is working properly had fuel all the way up to one of the ports on the common rail. Only way that I can get the machine to fire is a rag with gasoline on the intake no other way of getting it fired as of right now. The only codes that are showing up is it a 9519 which I believe is a DEF code and 9200 which is the mass airflow sensor been disconnected because filter housing being disconnected. Thought maybe it was an ECU problem so I took it out and put it into another machine the other machine fires up with no issues or codes it’s going to be about another week before I can get my buddy out to put the computer on it and help me out. Was just wondering if any of you veterans have any idea of where to look for this issue or how to diagnose it on my own without the computer thank you again for any possible information.

More than likely needs a DEF header. Very common issue, I usually change 2 or 3 a week. There is a PSB for it. You should have a 5 year emissions warranty, contact a kubota dealer.

Thank you for the reply I understand that the code is a DEF header code and I have changed a few of them myself and past machines but that has never created a new start condition for any of those machines always just a limp mode after about three minutes of running. Again I am absolutely nowhere near being a kubota technician and hardly know everything about these machines so you’re probably right I just never thought that a DEF header would create a no start condition.

Also when I first started working on this machine I did get eight area code 9509 that was some kind of Ken communication error which I believe was addressed to the ECU

if you have can error it can cause a no-start condition

easiest way is to use diagmaster to diagnose it, without it you are basically throwing parts at it which gets really expensive quickly.

another common issue with the early SVL95's is def injector leaking and def wicks into the wiring harness and destroys the harness. When you disconnect the acu, you will probably see it if you have a problem. ACU and ECU are different. You can also try disconnecting the DEF injector, if it's corroded, prepare yourself to buy a wiring harness and ACU. Before you do call a dealer with serial number and see if that is a covered repair in the 5 yr emissions warranty, or any other warranty (or extension of warranty if applicable--just ask them).

Thank you all again for your responses I had my buddy come over tonight that works for United as a technician for the rental company and he hooked up his computer to the machine and I had no real pressure so He asked me if I’ve ever gotten it to fire off and I told him yes with a rag and some gasoline on the intake so we did that again while he monitored the computer to check if we got any pressure and Max we got with the turning over with the gasoline was 145 psi he’s telling me that I have at least one injector leaking so next step injectors I guess.

Did you verify the volume of fuel to the common rail pump? If it does not have enough volume to the pump, it will not be able to the correct pressure.
Remove the hose from the fuel filter head OUTLET nipple, put a 48' long section of fuel hose on the nipple, and hang it out the back over a bucket. Turn the Keyswitch to the ON position to run the electric lift pump to monitor the amount of fuel being supplied to the common rail pump. It should pump a full stream from the hose at approx 1 once per second. I use a 12 Pepsi bottle, should fill in 10-12 seconds.

Anyone have any experience with aftermarket injectors?

Every once in awhile we hear someone who put in second-grade injectors that didn't work as they should. First-grade we are talking a reputable brand. For work use (making a payroll) I would recommend first grade because downtime is so expensively wasteful.

That’s great information. That why I love finding great forums, with great members. Thank you, I’m going to try that test tomorrow and get back to you guys.

Well I went to go test the lift pump and it filled a 12oz. coke bottle in about 15 seconds. seems to have a good enough flow. Cracked one of the lines on the rail and nothing, I even turned it over and NADA. Starting to thing somethings up with the injection pump. Too bad it's so hard to get a decent mechanic that shows up when he says he will.

Were you measuring from just the electric pump or the fuel filter outlet?

Fuel filter outlet. When we had the machine hooked up to the computer the fuel temp sensor was reading -40 degrees, Could that have something to do with my issue? Also the machine sat for about a year I believe was reading the forums and saw the suction control valve on the supply pump and was wondering if that could be an issue also?
