The money might be nice but I’d have a hard time letting go of that. It will likely be at least one more generation before our Farmall H or 9N leave the property.
Great point!! My kids (3) are in their 30’s, none are married or in serious relationships, no grandkids so I don’t see a promising future for passing down my toys. They all bought homes on 1/4 acre properties or less, so no need for a tractor.

There is just something about a man and his tractor. Tim Allen, he got it.

I bought my first tractor when I was still living at home with the parents, my father thought I was crazy.
I think that’s cool!!

Keep it!
I never use mine, but I still have my 1951 8N.
My kids can sell it if they so choose.
Yea, it can sit in the building with the Ford LGT165 And 63 Galaxie. Kids tell me all the time I should sell my stuff and enjoy the money but I enjoy my old tractors and cars.

Everyone tells you to keep it, but there is a reason that you bought the Kubota. The old one leaked, and it was time. It is also time to send it down the road, and put some cash in your pocket. The market for an old tractor will never be better than the present time, and if you keep it in a corner of the building in 5 or 10 years, you will be saying to yourself, "Why didn't I sell that when I got the Kubota?" It is like a boat, the happiest day of a boat owner's life is the day that he bought it, and the second happiest day is the day that he sold it. Be sentimental about your family, a tractor is just another tool and when you no longer need the tool, send it to someone that can use it and will be happy to get it. It is only a tool!

Mine..... is a VERY different opinion !!!!
It is often quite handy to have a 2nd tractor around!

Point taken; I did want something else because of the forklift more than the tractor. I wanted the loader and grapple badly to make work easier on me. Old tractor doesn't leak a drop but forklift made up 10 times over for it. Tractor clutch adjustment at the end and brakes bout gone but doesn't stop functions. Kubota with the forks gives me access on jobsites that trucks and hand trucks made difficult. Besides I get sick when I see my $60k+ trucks in hub deep mud and my guys tracking that in them. I digress!! You are right, multiple reasons to want new tractor ( not to mention tax write off). Looking at tractors like mine for sale around here they seem to be going between $2k-$3k. Is that fair price in current market? IDK. Thanks for the opinion, really enjoying everyones input!!

Thats true. I still have an old disc that I think is too heavy for the Kubota, so if I sell the Ford I guess that has to go also. My dealer quoted me a 4" LandPride disc @ $2k, guess I might should have bought it. Its probably more now.

Myself and I’m sure 80% if not more of you reading this have lots of tools kicking around that are hardly use if ever. Id rather have and not need them need and not have.
Id keep it like I said if I didn’t need the space or money. I don’t think at this point it’s going to lose much value unless it becomes a paperweight. In my case I felt I was offered way over what I was thinking so I sold. If I saw average market prices I would have kept unless i needed to sell it for reasons mentioned. You’ll know what’s right for you and your tractor.
