I replaced my 6 year plus old battery in the L3901DT today. I think I got my moneys worth out of it.

How many years have others with a L01 series gotten?

Mine is still original in my 2015 L4701. It was sounding a little weak when I bought the tractor so I charged it and has been doing fine since.

I've already got my replacement picked out though.. I want the ring terminals so I can leave a battery charger attached. Highest cranking amps I've seen on a group 24.

Bought my 2009 B26 TLB used May 2011 with 50 hours on it. I've never replaced the battery and I'm pretty sure its the original. So its at least 10 if not 13 years old. Starts as good as the day I bought it (knock wood).

I usually get close to 10 years of life from 12V batteries.

Usually about 5 years from 6V batteries.

In periods of non use, I charge all every 4-5 weeks with a maintainer. Failure to do so will shorten life.

I got 10 years out of the 2 OEM batteries in my Dodge Ram Cummins and 10 years out of the OEM in my VW Jetta diesel.

I know not keeping the battery charge shorten its life, but I don't have power we it lives when not in use.

6 years same as you. One thing I like on my L3901 is the battery tray is large and can handle many different size batteries.

I bought a new battery yesterday for my L4240. It had a Kubota number on the battery but the date had not been punched out, neither month or year. I am the second owner and I bought it from a dealer so I don't know if it's original or second. Tractor is a 2008 model.

What's interesting is the original battery had 582 CCA. I had it on a charger for a day and measured 250 CCA, so I checked to see what battery I needed. Group 24 seems to be the correct battery, however the group 34 is the same width and depth, just 3/4" shorter. Now, the group 24 was 700 CCA, the group 34 800 CCA, both 3 year replacement at Walmart. Group 34 was $10 cheaper, so that's what I came home with.

Now I have to determine if the connection on the back of the headlight bulb just pulls off or has a "keeper" holding it on. It's in a dark shed, loader on the front, and cold!

I made sure I had the measurements before I went to get a new battery knowing that I wasn't going to get the same size battery without going to a Kubota dealer. The closest dealer is at least 50 miles away.
