I would put in anchors in the concrete and make a rigid connection for the top link. Maybe two parallel angle irons.

It sounds like the barrel could flop forward and backwards twice the length of the chain, if you simply hooked the top link to the chain.

Barrel has a natural inclination to swing backwards, due to the forward placement of the lift points.. So the chain is always under tension “the right way”.

Take the top link off of tractor. Put pin back on tractor and loop a smallish chain around the pin. Put both end of chain through a length of pipe. Pipe length long enough to touch tractor pin and barrel. Then attach chain link from barrel to the chain from tractor. Be sure everything is fairly tight so barrel top won’t move towards tractor much.

I would go the eyebolt route. Drill a couple holes big enough, then, using your top link and pin to help locate things, put the eye bolts in the holes, drop some quickcrete/expanding cement in there and voila. Should be locked in pretty good. And that way it's more like a "real" implement, with less play and whatnot.

I would put the QH back on and modify whatever attachment you have that did not fit the QH so I could stick with that and not need to get off the tractor when changing implements.

Would have loved to stick with the QH. The problem was mostly with my implements, which are mostly all older and non-standard. My rake fit fine, but the mower was about a half-inch narrow and the top hook kept coming out of the top hook.. The rear blade had no suitable top link attachement, and NOTHING fit the roto-tiller. With the Pat’s, more of my implements fit...and getting off the tractor to attach a top link isn’t a big deal.

If you still have the QH, pick it up with the pats and then pick up the weight as you had
