Ok y'all, so there I am "trail blazin" again, and I find a "big gas" pile of dirt.

It's about 10' tall and has some decent sized trees growing "in it"

The only thing I can think of is that it is the "spoils" from when they dug the crawl space, 18'ish years ago.

So I break out the On-X app to make sure it's on my property and sure enough, it is.

My backyard has some low spots so I decided to use this dirt to fill them in.

Well let me tell you there mister, my bucket was NOT doing "jack squat" in regard to digging into the pile. I would get like "3 teaspoons" of dirt per scoop, and I would have to slightly "ram it" to get even that little amount.

I first began to use Stonewall to dig and loosen it up, and that was working fine the first day, but as I was parking the General Lee, I noticed the "long forgotten" project standing in the corner.

Enter the "Ripper Tooth bar"!!!!!!

I made it a couple of years ago, just because I thought it "looked cool" and might be useful someday.

Well let me tell you whats, what.

That thing is a beast and it made a Yuge difference.

I was able to both "backscrap" and "dig" .....Bigly.

At first "back scraping" worked the best.

here is a short "video" (sorry about the shakiness, trying to do it one handed;))

But I soon learned how to "raise and curl" the bucket, whilst inching forward, and that ended up working great.

I would get 'great big" scoops once I get better at it.

I have no idea how it happened, but I lost the "circlip" that holds the "loader arm" on.

And of course, I don't have any replacements...........

So some "combat engineering" is in order here.

I decide to use some "safety wire" to get me by for a little while. (it's not actual aircraft grade safety wire, its from tractor supply (y) )

Certainly not a long term solution, but it "got me by" for another 2 hours.

Circlips are on order. (y)🍸

Due to your over zealous practices with your tractor, is that the reason for the two bolts per side used to attach the tool bar to the bucket? Once the teeth on the bottom are in place and one bolt keeping it from rotating up, it is not coming out of there!!!

It's a nice job.

Honestly, I can't remember why I used 2 bolts.

I guess it just seemed like the "thing to do" at the time. :giggle:

Isn’t that the OTT rule when it comes to tractors? 😂

Looks awesome, but why not just turn around and use the BH to loosen it all up?

Very nice design. As my welding skills don't match yours I went with the Piranha version rather than embarrassing myself

It turns out that it works very well. (y)

@Runs With Scissors which On X level do you have? I am interested in the property boundary info.
Just the "base level".

I don't think it is "land surveyor" accurate, maybe within 2-3-5feet? My SIL has the " Mac Daddy" level but I think thats mostly cause he hunts in about 6-8 different states year round. Not sure if it's any more accurate or not.

Cool. I don't need it to survey necessarily, but it would be nice as a guesstimate to male sure my navigation is close.
My property lines are 100% straight according to the Plat. I just want to mark them and add the purple paint. There about 2000 lineal feet I need to mark through thick woods. Navigating with a compass isn't an issue (I'm a master diver) but going around thickets and such then getting back to the original line proved tough. I just want a backup of sorts. As long as the base level is close that's good.
Edit- there is a free 7 day trial! Sweet! I can pick a weekend I want to do this and use the trial!
