Multi process welder

Anybody out here use or have a multi process welder? This is what I’m looking at.

Don’t know if I posted the link right.

Looking for a new welder which will be split between work and home. I’m limited to 110 volt at home and at work in our main shop (if I need to use a bigger welder I just go to the body shop). At home it will be just general use,hobby work,nothing major that really requires a 220 or bigger welder, and if it did I would just take it to work and use the ones in the body shop. Work use will be mainly broken bolt extraction which is why I want the tig part of it. I used to live in Illinois and dealt with a lot of broken bolts and the tig was the most effective. I liked the Miller tig we had at that shop that was a dual voltage but really only used 110 because that’s what we had at the outlets on our lifts and it was plenty for what we did.

So has anybody used or have a welder that does multiple types like this? I’d rather not buy multiple welders. Not many reviews on the tig side of this welder on the Home Depot site, mostly mig side and a few stick side.

140 running amps isn't much. Fine for TIG with an air cooled torch marginal for MIG and not good for SMAW. Check out the new Harbor Freight multi process welder. Having said that, I'm a Lincoln man but power wise that welder is wimpy.

Been eyeballing the Vulcan welders (Harbor Freight) for a while now. I like the built in pre sets and they are inverter based units.


see the TIG torch and foot pedal is also optional and I don't like the 'touch the tung to the workpiece to start gas flow. That is a big no-no with aluminum or stainless. and causes imperfections in the weld and destroys the tip on the tung electrode.

I know the torch and pedal are separate, where do you see touch the tung to start gas flow? Maybe I missed that but I know touching the tip to the work piece doesn’t end well.

I have the Lincoln 210MP and really like it.
I'm not a good welder; this makes me look good... most of the time, and not equipments fault.

It was a new model at the time, and price was great back then versus Miller equivalent, which is also a great machine. Seems like it was $1,050 at the time.

I have only used MIG. Came with a stick clamp but no TIG torch, etc, just like the one you're looking at. This had all metal feed, versus plastic components of some brands/models. I think many do like stick performance too.

I liked the dual voltage feature. Started at 120, but since ran 220v out to it via a sub panel Makes a world of difference. Wonder if you'll be happy with 120?

I’m pretty much limited to 120 volt at this point, more so at work then at home because they aren’t going to wire me 220 to my bay l,hell im lucky to have 110 lol. I had the miller at a previous dealer and only had 120 to it for tig and had good results with it, also had a miller 120 volt mig there too for doing custom exhaust work and such and had good results. Would love to have 220 available, I tried to buy the miller dual voltage tig from the dealer I left but that didn’t work out lol, wonder why.

Sidecar, I took a look at the harbor freight multi process, from what I see it’s no better on the 120 side,it is dual voltage though but I don’t have 220 volt right now,and it’s about $200 more and doesn’t include the tig torch or pedal either
