I've got a BX2230 with the 60" MMM, and mow 3 acres with over 30 trees I mow around. Takes me 1.5 to 2 hours depending on how many limbs I have to stop and trim so they don't hit me.
Great machine for mowing, only takes about 1.25 to 1.5 gallons to do the yard.

FreeHeeler is 110% in his post about the Ferris machine. A Ferris will be my next ZTR. I've had a 54" Deere z910a for 15 years but it rides rough as a log wagon! I mow slopes and ditch banks with it and it will out mow my BX22 and b7300. Like the others have said, if you can swing it get a ztr as well.

When I got my BX2230 with 54 inch deck, I thought I would have to mow a lot with my push mower in hard to reach spots. Turns out I almost never have to.

I use my JD 455 AWS diesel for mowing, turns as tight as a ZT
plus I can use it for other tasks as well.
I don't use the BX for mowing only as a loader.

I moved from a quarter acre to 15 acres last October. I'm thinking about a riding mower. But a used bx with just the deck can be had for about 1500 more than a gr with similar hp. I have a lot of trees to mow around. Will the bx be clumsy as compared to the gr?
I mow 6 acres, 2.5 around the house and the rest is field with trees and other stationary obstacles with a by BX 2380 and 60" MMM. The BX does great. I have a ditch to mow that is a 45deg slope that the BX can not do. Added a pull behind 60" finishing mower that I can offset that works on the slope and gets under the low branches of the trees. Mowing time was effectively cut in half with a combined 120" wide cut. If you can not go faster, go wider.

I used to have a BX23. I liked mowing with it a lot.

I've always heard ZTs are not good for steep slopes. Even had a dealer say that.

For what’s it’s worth, a previous neighbor (not sure the neighbor was a benchmark or anything 😉) rolled a ZT over on himself on a hill side that my BX and B both mowed just fine. He was lucky to have only broken an arm. Even afterwards still used a ZT and it was normal to see it wheelie…again most certainly not a benchmark.
