Milwaukee M18 circular saw gutless?

Just picked up a 2732-20 to use on a construction project and so far have not been impressed with this tool. Full disclosure, I have been using this saw with a 3.0 battery which is the biggest I have at this time.

I have found that if there is even the slightest bind on the blade, it stalls out and when I check the battery, the charge indicator lights flash.

Milwaukee claims it has all the torque of a 15 amp corded saw but I disagree.

Nowhere in the saw owners manual is any wording about recommend battery size or any explanation of how they arrived at the rated specifications.

Anybody have thoughts or different experiences with this tool?

You’ll definitely get better performance with the larger 5 or 9ah batts but if you don’t already own them they can get pricey.

I have an M18 circular saw that came with a kit several years ago.

Think blade is 6 1/2"(?).

No issues for me, but I do use a 5.0 ah battery.

Mine is the 7-¼" brushless unit with magnesium shoe. Wish it was a blade left model like my corded drop foot Milwaukee.

I have this same saw, the 1st one I had bound up and stopped working within a week or so, I returned it, the replacement works great with any of my batteries, although, obviously, larger ones last longer. Good luck!

We typically avoid battery saws unless we have to be in the rafters. We did have a Mikita running and it took us a while to realize that we had to baby it more than our corded magnesium skillsaws. Dual batteries on it if I recall.

The minimum I would use is the 5AH battery. 8 or 9 is better.

The battery size makes a huge difference. I can tell the difference between my 8Ah and 6Ah. With the 8Ah it has more torque than my corded Makita hypoid saw.

Similar experience here... I'm an electrician and I have many Milwaukee tools and a variety of batteries
The 9ah or 12ah is the one I chose when I want to do some serious work.

just went to the website, the ONLY battery I can see(kinda) , is to use the HD12(750 cuts..), which I assume is a 12AH battery
NO where is the 'specs' do they say WHAT battery is needed, just M18 ,again I'll assume Millwakee, 18 volt ?
