I recently purchased an LX2610 and am wondering if anyone has used them for square baling. If so what attachments work well?
For 12 grand one could purchase a lot of hay, and not mess with the heat or repairs !!!Teh BX23XX/S has enough grunt to run all the equipment in this hay kit: https://tractortoolsdirect.com/subcompact-homesteader-hay-package/
Unless you are doing production level haying, it is doubtful that it ever makes money sense to make your own hay - unless all of the equipment was given/inherited/bought it really cheap used. For 12 grand one could purchase a lot of hay, and not mess with the heat or repairs !!!
True. As stated in the advertisement this kit gives you the power to harvest hay at its peak nutritional value... not when the farmer down the road decides it is time. For 12 grand one could purchase a lot of hay, and not mess with the heat or repairs !!!
Perhaps not everything in life has to pass a cost/benefit analysis. Some things are about being self sufficient, enjoyment, control, ownership, pride, quality, hobbies, memories, etc. I've never cut a hayfield, never ran a hay tedder, never made windrows, or baled up hay, but I can imagine it's very satisfying. Many, many years ago I picked up square bales and loaded them on a trailer for a few days and that was hard work but still enjoyable. For 12 grand one could purchase a lot of hay, and not mess with the heat or repairs !!!
Must not have been August in Mississippi. The day I got to run the rake I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Many, many years ago I picked up square bales and loaded them on a trailer for a few days and that was hard work but still enjoyable.
