At times I guess that we all wonder if we are loosing it?? I reckon that the best part about Brain Farts or maybe more properly called Cranial Flatulence is that at least they don't smell bad.

For now I don't have Alzheimer's. I have Halfheimer's because I can remember about half of what I ought to know.

Whatever I forget at my age isn't worth remembering anyway. Besides, I have my wife to remind me of what I forget. All good with me.

Some recent studies have suggested that a cup of coffee every morning can help stave off the effects of Alzheimer's. Coffee can reduce the levels of beta amyloid, a destructive protein commonly found in the brains of people with Alzheimer’s, by as much as 50%.

Another study completed in 2014 found that people who drank more than three cups of coffee daily were less likely to develop Alzheimer’s, but only in the short term. Yet another study, one completed in 2012, found that drinking three cups a day could slow or stop the transition from mild cognitive impairment to dementia. Researchers believe that caffeine and coffee may delay the onset of symptoms, thus delaying a diagnosis.

Google this and read up on it. Perhaps some may find it helpful. May not hurt though to try and introduce some coffee to your morning routine!

Maybe that is what is causing my Halfheimer's. I normally drink only one cup of coffee in the morning.

Just read somewhere that drinking coffee everyday increases your lifespan. Sometimes I think yhe coffee my wife brews in the morning is shortening it....:D

Magicman, I thought you had a post about computer problems!!:D
Now that's funny!! Like Lil Foot I'm screwed, can't do coffee either. This memory thing doesn't get any better with age. Caught myself a few times lately walking to the garage on a mission to get something but all of a sudden I can't remember what. So there I'll stand out in the garage looking, for what I don't know but I know if I stay and look long enough it'll come to me because to walk back in the house and ask my wife would be admitting defeat.

I have heard the old adage about "older and wiser" but so far I have only gotten older.

I started walking out to my shop and forgot why I was going. I stopped and then noticing that my neighbor was watching me so I started looking up in the trees. I turned around and came back to the house leaving my neighbor looking up in the trees. I got into the house and then wondered what I came here for so I went and sat in my recliner. As soon as my butt hit the seat I immediately remembered why I was going to the shop.

I guess this proves that the only thing that my mind listens to is my butt.

There is a Proverb, "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he."

You dwelling on what isn't working is not good for the mind. Focus on what is right and try to improve.

You obviously don't know me very well because I'm just having fun and some of the "Halfheimers" humor should have been obvious. Maybe I should have added this under the "Daily Chuckle"? ;)

I am now 7 weeks past my Total Knee Replacement surgery and am doing quite well. I should be discharged Friday and be able to lay this laptop down and resume my sawmilling job.

I've very optimistic all my life which wasn't easy at times but that's just the way I'm built. Joking around with your friends is a good thing even if it is the half truth at times. Now what was I gonna do, lol.

At this point, I'll be tickled to get the peepers fixed and be able to see where I sat stuff down and forgot where I sat it....

Right now, I cannot see what I forgot, let alone find it. Thursday morning, the left then hopefully the right. Then I can begin searching for stuff I've 'misplaced'...lol

Being extra careful where I put my shoes at night before bed. Don't need to misplace them in as much as I cannot really see them anyway.

Before I retired for the second time, my buddy told me he thought I had CRS disease. For the life of me I couldn't remember what CRS stood for. Had to look it up on net when I got home:D

One more day and I get a new llens in my left eye. Glad my wife is driving me, I'd probably forget where the hospital was.... Hope she remembers, she's as old as I am.

Flip, just write yourself a note to keep an eye on your GPS on your way to the DR. office. Oh, wait, you can't see.

Don't worry. Cataract surgery takes about 12 minutes. Recovery with multiple daily eye drops, a few weeks.
