New guy here, first post.
I just picked up an L2050 cheap. Took a while to get it running as it sat for several years and the seller had filled the cylinders with transmission fluid. I pulled the injectors and pumped out the fluid. A lot of cranking with the glow plugs on and it finally blew tons of black smoke and now seems to run fine.
I have these questions. Thanks in advance.
Should I expect to need the glow plugs to start in Florida weather? My other Kubota, an L2250, never needs them even at 30 F.
The trans/differential housing has two fill ports. Isn't this just one sump and either fill port goes to the same place? Is there a place to check the fluid level besides the sight glass? It is fogged badly. The oil level is only about an inch below the fill port in front of the seat, which I suspect is way way overfilled.
Does the 3 point lift operate from the transmission pump (if there is one...) or from the engine mounted pump. The lift is not working, or barely anyway, so i think I'll drain the fluid and get the level correct and clean the screen also.
Is the knob under the seat, and on top of the lift cover, only for locking the lift up? I'm not familiar with that function. My L2250 holds an implement up for weeks without a lock.
What is the engine oil capacity?
I do have a manual on the way....
Thanks again.
