Tractor starts and runs fine. When i attempt to engage the PTO for my rotary cutter the engine dies as soon as I move the switch. If I quickly move the PTO switch back to the off or disengage position the engine will continue to run.

Maladjusted or bad seat switch, or your trying to engage it while not sitting down. ;)

No sir I am sitting down in the seat when engaging the PTO switch. Like I said, if I quickly move the PTO lever back to the disengage position the engine continues to run.

I vote for that idea too. My B tractor is very picky about how I sit for pto operation, and it is the seat switch.

Wouldn’t the tractor kill when he was just in gear if it was the seat switch?ive had dirt packed in between the neutral switch and the shifter and if I get off the seat the tractor kills? How does the tractor die?is it instantly like shutting the key off or does it act like something is in a bind?does the pto even try to spin?can you turn the pto shaft on the bush hog?
