3 years old, 157 hours. After sitting couple of months, would not fire up so I cleaned fuel/water separator, bled the system per the manual. Next, would fire up then die after a few seconds. Tried again 2 more times after 30 intervals, same thing then nothing at all on 3rd time. Wound up bleeding it 2 more times and it finally started. Let it idle for a few minutes then increased to 1500, 2000 rpms, then let it run at 1200 for 5 minutes. Thought all was well. Next morning get ready to bush hog and same thing; won't start except for a few seconds and then nothing. Error Codes PO606, PO663, PO653, PO643, & PO380. Any ideas?
Thanks,

Sounds like algae in the fuel lines. When I get chores done I'll see if I can find those error codes. I recommend you hold off on tinkering too much until you can look in a shop manual. The 60 series has an odd fuel supply routing. The common rail is sensitive to dirt and the pump is expensive. The warranty on the high pressure common rail is 5 years, but might be difficult to get if you have done too much.

I believe 0606 is a generic ECM fault code, 0663 is another ECM / intake tuning valve fault, 0653 is a sensor voltage code. I’m not saying not to wait for sheepfarmer to get back to you especially if he has the service manual but I would look for a blown fuse, sensor or wire unplugged or shorted against something while you wait. Hope it’s an easy fix.

As said above, p0606 ecu, p0663 sensor supply voltage 3 failure, p0653 and p0643 also sensor supply voltages. P0380 glow relay abnormality. P0380 suggests ground short or open circuit of glow relay circuit.

All direct to a section on faults with wiring harness or ecu.

I believe Brick's suggestion to look for an obvious short in the wiring harness to be a good first step if you can do it visually. Need the manuals to check voltages across the correct sets of pins. Above my pay grade!

Dealer Mechanic's laptop says it's the ECU. Service Dept says the ECU cost is $3000 but will see if Kubota will step up and replace on good will or maybe half price. Tractor is actually 4 years old and warranty expired at 3 years. Fingers crossed.

Shouldn't the ECU be covered under the emissions warranty?... Thinking the emissions warranty is longer than three years.

Emissions warranty is 2 years or 2000 hours whichever comes first. I guess there may be a few full timers that put 1000 hours a year on a tractor. Anyway, no help here. Dealer says the new ECU is in "programming", whatever that is. Still waiting to hear if Kubota will step up.

If you have all the paperwork you got when you bought the tractor, in a pamphlet it has a list of the things covered by the warranty and for how long. It was a federal government requirement that all the things used to run the new emissions control devices like the dpf filter be warranteed for 5 years. The rest of the tractor is only warranteed for 2 years. Seems like the computer ought to be on the 5 year list. I'll look for mine, should be the same.

I was thinking it was 5 years aso, but it might have been different in that year. The ECU is covered in the warranty info I found on Kubota's website.

I wish the OP the best of luck in getting this resolved with minimal expense.
