When using the PTO for bush hogging, the temperature gauge on my L3710 runs right on the lower fringe of the Hot zone. The screens are clean and the coolant is topped-off.

Does anyone have an idea what might be the cause, and what I might do about it?

You will get an increase in engine temps dont forget you are working that beast pretty hard. Have you checked your fluid and when was the last time you changed it,,yes coolant does in fact have a life span

Most likely is that there is restricted air flow through the radiator. Remove the radiator and clean the fins. If packed, then soak in water and dawn, rinsing periodically with low pressure water through the fins.

Just because the temp gauge is not quite in the red zone doesn't mean that damage is not being done. Excess heat will cause movement with the block, cylinder gasket, and cylinder head. This will cause premature failure of the gasket leading to a cracked cylinder head.

Something you want to take care of now.
