I've got a DitchWitch R40 trencher. Has a gas tank that is integrated into part of the machine. Be a major job to get the tank off and cleaned. The machine in a 1980 model so it's have a lot of opportunities to get junk and rust in the tank. It has a sediment bowl, inline filter, then a lift pump (which it doesn't actually need). I had trouble getting it to run for any extended period of time last week so I spent several hours trying to get the tank clean.

Here's a collection of the majority of it. Even found a 3" screw in there! This is a plastic container for Cool Whip.

Well - used tractor extensively over past week. When idling and sitting sideways on a grade (right side downhill) noticed some diesel slowly dripping near my boot on throttle pedal :(. I looked and it’s dripping off the area where mounting bolts are (which is the weld/seam.

once level - the dripping stopped. Any thoughts? Just use it and don’t fill tank full - as I’ll rarely be sitting/working sideways on a grade? Is there a connection I might have missed (near top of tank)? Worth taking off and coating over winter? Feasibility?
