Hi All -

I checked the workshop manual and I'm still not sure what I need to do here. This is a Kubota L225

When I go to high RPM and a load on the engine, oil is badly leaking out of the area near the cooling inlet behind the generator. I've attached a few pictures.

This got progressively worse as I worked yesterday until I ultimately had to shut it down. I suspect I've lost a gasket somewhere, but I'm not sure which.

Could it be the oil pump gasket? Why would it be squirting out all the way up there?

Very little leaking at low RPMs.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

It could be the gear case cover gasket, but that would only be splash oil.
It's more likely the pin pipe O-ring (it's the oil feed to the Rockers).
It's going to require you to get a new head gasket and Pin pipe O-ring.
Do not get an aftermarket gasket, and O-ring get OEM.

Thank you for that information. Would you say this will be a pretty tough job? Since I have to take the head off, I'll have to disconnect the fuel lines and everything else I assume. Been working on gas engines for 30+ years, but have much less experience with diesel.

Not a hard job at all in my opinion.
If you remove the intake or the exhaust you'll need those gaskets too.
Drain the coolant, drain the oil, leave the oil pan under it with the plug out to get rid of any coolant that might get in the oil.
Pull the head, clean it all up, replace O-ring and head gasket, reattach all the parts, set the valve lash and away you go.
