Kubota Coc document

It is needed in the UK... clearly different in other countries. I'm not sure why people need to be so difficult when you are asking a genuine question

I lived in the UK for a couple of years, and worked with a dairy farmer. He drove his tractors on the roads a lot, but i never asked if he needed anything special to do so.

Here in Sunny CA, we can drive up to 30 miles on roads provided we have our slow vehicle sign on the back, and flashers going.

i agree with others…. Talk to a dealer, or some other local farmer! They should know what is local, or enforced. 2-3 hundred meters shouldn’t be an issue…. Unless, of course, it’s on an A or B route!

Not likely for a tractor. Tractors are only temporarily allowed on public roadways… not for the long term. Why do you want to place it on the public road?

For all you guys who got wrapped around the axle because I suspected a spammer…. Here’s the explanation as to WHY I came to think that:

I posted (as the 2nd post) what I’ve quoted myself above, in which I defined what a COC was…and the EXPLANATION of my comment.

The MOMENT I hit” Submit/Post reply” … and I mean in ONLY a MOMENT, as if an automated response occurred…. our friend “flame172” responded with his question for me to “explain”..

Think about that…and you’ll see why it appeared to be a flamer or spammer.

To Mr. ”flame172”: Sincere apology for your misunderstanding my post #2 and my lack of notice you were in England (where I just spent a month on vacation, as it is one of my favorite places and where my father spent his youth in B-24’s fighting fascists.

Hello. I wonder if anyone can help. We have recently purchased a Kubota B2420. We are looking to get it road registered. We are advised that we need a coc document to send to the DVLA. Our local dealer have advised us they are waiting on Kubota to hear back from Japan to see if they hold information on this tractor. Does anyone know how we can get around this or if the information is available online? Thank you

I don't know if this is helpful, but it appears that there are some explanations provided on the UK.GOV website concerning the registration of new and used farm tractors:

Registration documents
To register a new tractor for the first time, you’ll need to prove it has either:

• GB Whole Vehicle Type Approval (GB WVTA)
• Provisional GB Type Approval (based on an EU type approval)

You can prove this by showing the Certificate of Conformity (CoC).

You should be given the CoC when you buy the tractor. If you do not have it, you can get a copy from the manufacturer.

Tractors that do not need approval
You do not need approval for some types of specialist tractors, for example a vineyard tractor or track-laying tractor.

If you think your tractor does not need approval, check with the manufacturer.

You do not need approval if you are registering a used tractor that is over 10 years old.

According to this, the manufacturer is obligated to provide you with a copy of the COC if you don;t have one, and approval is not needed for tractors over 10 years old.

I constantly check where people are from before replying to a post because I can better tailor my response to their climate if it is a snow-related post or a lawn mower post in the middle of the winter and they live in one of our warmer climates. Unfortunately, some people will not indicate where they are from or even acknowledge what country they live in. At a minimum, giving a state or country will help to some extent. Some act as if you are going to hunt them down and steal their tractor. Way too many paranoid people on forums today.

Are you not aware that many countries REQUIRE tractors to be registered, if used for even minor road travel?
Look to the NORTH.....Nova Scotia, (Canada), for one!

I think Nova Scotia requires registration to make it easier to identify remains found in potholes

Is it sad? The founders of this country left the OP's country because they were sick and tired of BS rules. Our fine leaders have proposed license plates for bicycles more than a few times, and the people have rightfully stood up to the tyranny. They're smart enough (so far) to not do it for tractors.

Pointing out something is ridiculous on a DISCUSSION forum is almost as ridiculous as calling out someone for sharing their opinion on said discussion forum.

If you need your questions answered, there are dedicated sites for like, like quora.

Some states and countries require that tractors be registered like a car, trucks, or other commercial vehicles if they are going to be operated in the public ways, and some States even consider parking lots as public ways depending on the size and scope of the areas involved, such as a shopping mall.
In Massachusetts, all snow removal equipment is required to have a license plate attached to it if it is used to clear snow in large parking lots. The police have full authority to arrest and/or ticket people for moving violations in the parking lots, such as dangerous driving or driving under the influence.
The reasoning behind requiring registration for the tractor is so the state can be certain that there is proper liability insurance in place if the tractor is involved in an accident with a person or another motor vehicle.
Kubota RTVs can be licensed in Massachusetts as a "slow moving vehicle", which means that you can use it to drive into town, but you are restricted to driving no faster than 35 MPH. They are only allowed on secondary roads and are not allowed on toll roads or interstate highways.

I lived in MA 30 years and did not know any of this. I am now even more grateful to have escaped the people's republic!
