Hello. I wonder if anyone can help. We have recently purchased a Kubota B2420. We are looking to get it road registered. We are advised that we need a coc document to send to the DVLA. Our local dealer have advised us they are waiting on Kubota to hear back from Japan to see if they hold information on this tractor. Does anyone know how we can get around this or if the information is available online? Thank you

Certificate of Compliance (emissions and mileage and safety to meet NHTSA)

Not likely for a tractor. Tractors are only temporarily allowed on public roadways… not for the long term. Why do you want to place it on the public road?

We have a plot of land approximately 200 metres from our house and to get to and from we need to use the road. We wouldn't want to risk an accident that's why we need it road registered

This means that he believes you are a spammer.

Some states and countries require that tractors be registered like a car, trucks, or other commercial vehicles if they are going to be operated in the public ways, and some States even consider parking lots as public ways depending on the size and scope of the areas involved, such as a shopping mall.
In Massachusetts, all snow removal equipment is required to have a license plate attached to it if it is used to clear snow in large parking lots. The police have full authority to arrest and/or ticket people for moving violations in the parking lots, such as dangerous driving or driving under the influence.
The reasoning behind requiring registration for the tractor is so the state can be certain that there is proper liability insurance in place if the tractor is involved in an accident with a person or another motor vehicle.
Kubota RTVs can be licensed in Massachusetts as a "slow moving vehicle", which means that you can use it to drive into town, but you are restricted to driving no faster than 35 MPH. They are only allowed on secondary roads and are not allowed on toll roads or interstate highways.

A scammer for asking a question about a tractor we have bought. Absolutely ridiculous. We are in the UK

You need to ask your local bureaucrats why farm equipment needs to be licensed to operate on the roads. Also ask them why they need to buy food since it magically appears free on their grocers shelves.

I bet the poster is in England or somewhere on that side of the pond. Some European countries require proper legal paperwork before you can drive a tractor on public roads, probably for insurance purposes ,maybe pay a small road tax'. Whenever I see pictures from 'there', tractors always have license plates on them, seems weird at first, but it does make sense.
Here in Ontario, anyone can legally drive any farm tractor on the road without registration. A 10 year old can, as long as tractor has an SMV sign on the back. Can also drive a farm truck trailering 5t of pony poop, 40kmh anywhere as well.
different lands, different rules.
I'd think the local tractor dealer would be able to help.If the model is reasonably new should be easy. Old equipment will be problem. Maybe talk to other farmers ?

It is needed in the UK... clearly different in other countries. I'm not sure why people need to be so difficult when you are asking a genuine question

"Reported" ????
Why ???
Are you not aware that many countries REQUIRE tractors to be registered, if used for even minor road travel?
Look to the NORTH.....Nova Scotia, (Canada), for one!
