So SDT you've got actual numbers for what Kubota pays for the parts, something in writing, that can be confirmed ? As I said, I don't know their actual numbers ,but typically a retailer buys at 50% of selling, so the $4K DPF might cost the dealer $2K. Dealer gets it from 'corporate',(2K > 1K)but they purchase from Japan head Office, who gets it from the actual manufacturer($1K > $500 ). That's how a $500 part ends up costing the consumer $4K.
One example of 'markups'. Decades ago I ran 3 radio Shacks, I could order 2 , 1/4" phone jacks. My cost on one was .47, the other 2.99. Both sold for $3.95. Now since both do the same job, guess which one I ordered buy the case ??
