Is there a primary ignition fuse on the M62 TLB.

I am thinking about getting a spare ignition fuse for an M62 TLB.
I would deliberately short this fuse out, and use it to install as an anti theft device.
I cannot determine the proper part number from the Messicks website.

Do you mean pull the fuse? Shorting a fuse means same as using a jumper wire. Unless you mean to overload one of the fuses until failure and use it as a decoy.

Might be easier to blow a 5A fuse and use it in the fuel shut off solenoid circuit. Engine won't start and you will see weird unrelated error messages on the intellipanel.

What would be the fuse (part number) in the M62 ignition/battery circuit to accomplish this?
I assume that this would be a relative high amperage fuse.
My goal by putting in a blown battery/ignition fuse, is to prevent engine cranking by a vandal or thief.

You could add a $30 wifi/fob power relay between battery and fuse panel.
When you park tractor,drop rear blade ,makes it harder to steal, though not impossible.

Wifi extra gadgetry is something I absolutely do not want to get involved with.

It is not possible to "drop rear blade" on a TLB.

I want the engine to simply not start, and an intentionally bad ignition/battery fuse would seem least likely to be discovered.
Anybody know the part number for such a fuse, in an M62 TLB?

I can keep the loader, and hoe buckets on the ground as well.

I think this is a good/easy idea.

Put a 1 or 2 amp fuse in there instead. If someone tries to crank it, it will just blow.

Ain't no thief or vandal gonna start troubleshooting it.......

Anyone serious enough about stealing it would most likely just back a flatbed up to it and it will be gone.

I need to know where "there" is, and what the fuse part number is.
I want the pre-failed fuse to look EXACTLY like the OEM fuse.
Messick's lists several high AMP fuses, but does not describe particular fuse function.

Flatbed theft might not be all that easy, with loader and hoe buckets full down, plus stabilizers fully extended, so as to hopefully not quite fit through the sea can door opening.

A battery disconnect on the negative cable and hidden would be the easiest thing for you to do and be able to walk up and turn on and be back to working without fooling with replacing a fuse.

well a smart thief will just winch the seacan and contents onto his 'tilt 'n load' tow truck......
yes, it's that easy....

Y’all are thinking way too hard on this….use said M62, dig a hole, ducon reinforced concrete bunker with retractable top and hydraulic lift in the bunker, anchor the sea can to the bunker and add false floor…drive tractor in can, lower it and secure it in the bunker

Going to need drainage. Don’t forget drainage. Oxidation, the thief of grown men’s’ dreams.

So a couple things that could be done is put a hidden off/on switch in either the starter solenoid trigger wire or in the fuel solenoid power.

Or a blown fuse in the ignition or starter circuit. Can you find a picture of the fuse panel? The fuses are probably labeled on the cover. Oh, and have your buddy buy that insurance you were asking about.

Your playing with fire, that is a computer controlled tractor and doing what you want to do can lead to some costly issues.
There is a ton of instances where just removing the battery cables off the battery fries the ECM.
There is no safe way to eliminate this issue, and pulling a fuse can lead to some of the same issues.

The seat plastic bottom was cracking on the M59 causing the seat present switch to open on rough ground and stop the tractor engine. Replaced switch with a waterproof push button switch now is my thief deterrent hidden switch.

Seen steel channel locks on construction equipment outriggers cylinder rods to prevent them from being raised. Can’t drive, tow, or drag that off.
