Hi
I have an M7060 with a LA11154 loader on the front.
It seems very weak the loader so I tested the pressure and it is about 1700Ppsi which is below spec. How do I increase this?
Do I have to add shims or is there adjustment on the valve chest?

Does anyone have a workshop manual for the LA1154?

Thanks
Justin

Justin,

I am gonna bet there is an adjustment, I want to say at relief valve much like other machines. Someone here will chime in soon with information on that model and or help to guide to a WSM .

I do know on the BX series it is a very easy and cheap "fix".

I would imagine that you can get that pressure up close to 2000 psi, and it will make a great difference!

Justin, welcome aboard! I can not give you specific information, but on many hyd. valves there is a pressure regulator in the valve body. You would typically unscrew the regulator to remove it. In behind, is the adjustment for that pressure.

Wait until one of the owners of your particular tractor has their coffee and they can give you very specific info. Be patient, it will be much less expensive then taking it in for service.

This model as well as other new models have a dial up / down pressure regulator no shims needed.
It's on top of the three point under the seat.
I think you turn the adjustment on the end in to up the pressure and out to lower the pressure.

a spring loaded gizmo ....now that is super nice !!!!

NIW - you need to "invent" this for all the BX models, hell it would not be too awful bad, I have shimmed mine, getting TO THE "nut" is 85% of the work(with the BH still on).......
a variable hex head would be the cats lick!

Yea I think it's just a cost / weight / space / safety (with adjustable you need a second safety valve) saving measure why they don't put adjustable pressure regulators on all of them. ;)

Hi Guys,
Thanks for all the help.
I got a copy of the WSM and it's really simple to change.
There is a relief valve on the valve chest for the loader, you just remove the locknut and then by hand adjust the screw until you get the required pressure.
One thing I noticed is the pressure wouldn't go past 1950PSI, i was thinking that there may be a second relief valve for the oil system feeding this which is set at 1950. Anyway I think that's probably sufficient.

On the M7040 the 3 pt hitch and the FEL pressures are linked and one affects the other. I would suspect but cannot state absolutely that the 7060 would be quite similar. The M7040 loader is a 1153 while as you state the M7060 is 1154.
The WSM for the tractor and for the loader (two separate manuals) are not clear on this at all but the Kubota mechanic who adjusted mine showed me.
The pressurized oil first flows to the FEL control valve and then, through a power beyond port, to the rear remotes and 3 pt.
If the relief valve at the rear is adjusted all the way towards high and the max measured pressure on a rear remote is below spec, which is close to 3,000 psi, then the relief valve on the loader valve is limiting the pressure available to the 3 pt and remotes.
In other words, the FEL relief valve needs to be adjusted first and a little higher than the relief valve at the rear. It may be possible that the rear remote/3pt relief valve pointed out by Wolfman can affect the FEL operating pressure as well. The hydraulic schematics in each WSM do not show a complete system with both rear remotes and FEL so I needed the factory trained mechanic to fix mine.

just shimming or adjusting the relief to solve the issue is the wrong way to do it, IMO. Need to find out why the psi is low.

I assume what u adjust is what's highlighted in yellow ?

May I ask what other issue you're referring to that could correct low hyd pressure other than low relief valve setting? I was taught to perform the easiest repairs 1st & checking/adjusting relief should be a simple task.
Thank you,Jim

You need to read post #9 in this thread.

There are two relief valves and the one you highlighted only deals with the 3 pt and rear remotes.

The FEL has its own relief.

Dave
I read that and I figured it looks similar to the 3 pt . And I am going to check and adjust if needed both . As soon as I get a gauge .

Pressure is defined as resistance to flow. Put your finger over the end of an open garden hose to restrict it's flow and the pressure in the hose rises. Take your finger off of the end of the hose and the pressure drops off. Same thing in a hydraulic system. If there is an internal leak somewhere, say, if a pump is failing or has already failed, restricted filter(s), poor fluid quality (algae, etc), sticking/stuck valve(s), internal leak, etc pressure is going to be low.

With hydraulic systems you have to use trained & knowledgeable common sense. Simply turning up the pressure results in band-aiding the real problem (usually). 1700 psi is VERY low for that tractor; I could understand if it was 50-200 low, I wouldn't be too concerned with that but when it's "that" low, there is almost always another problem elsewhere.

I agree good diagnostics & common sense is a must when attempting to repair hyd problems.

I also agree hyd filters need to be changed if that hasn't been performed lately.

Due to the fact of what you stated against initially adjusting relief valve would you please outline the steps you would utilize in diagnosing/repairing this tractor's hyd low pressure reading?
Thank you,Jim
