Congratulations. I’m only 7 months into retirement. Mentioned to wife just yesterday instead of looking forward to the weekend, I now look forward at least a little to Mondays. Most folks we know go back to work Monday. M-F = less people on the road, in stores, in parks, at the lake; generally less people bothering us.

It’s nice… but it’s VERY different. Honestly, despite zero regrets and staying plenty busy, I’m just now sort of getting used to it.

Exactly! All the jobs that get put off, somehow come back to the forefront, and wife has a memory! Lol

Congrats RCW! Geddy will love having you around 24 hrs a day. And I’m sure you will enjoy the special companionship too! . Applause for a “Job” well done to completion!

been over 22 years since I packed it in - where has the time gone...

My first day of retirement was this Monday.

My normal workday started a 0630 and I wasn't there.

At 0800 my mother fell at her house an hour away and broke her other hip....

Been there 4 times this week. Hip replacement yesterday.

All went well, but a long road ahead.

Wow. That sounds too familiar. My wife’s health was not great before I retired; spiraled out of control right after I retired. Still working on getting her fixed.

All the “do whatever you want whenever you want” type stuff, maybe that will actually happen someday. Not counting on it.

Glad I have the time to do what needs to be done. If I was still working it would be a complete cluster.

Hope your mother makes a full recovery.

@NCL4701 - was aware of your recent retirement, but not that of the health-related issues for your Mrs. until recently.

I hope I didn’t overlook it before.
