I don't understand the hate with the "treadle" pedal.

First off, here in the south, our older hands prefer to call it a "treble" pedal.

Secondly, you aint stood up to adjust your pants, stepping on the reverse and about slingin yourself onto the hood yet lol.

I do like the design though. Very convenient when cutting and having to back up constantly. You do need to keep it greased though on the standard L's. Otherwise you'll get unwanted cruise control.

My youngin crept through one of our gates last year on our 3301 from a sticky pedal....couple of grease points underneath her takes care of that.

My grand L has a better version of this pedal and won't stick.....or at least hasn't yet.
On my bx23s if you stand up to adjust your pants you ain't going anywhere, the seat safety switch takes care of that.

I also have a John Deere and do prefer the two-pedal set up. My old B7200 would give me a leg cramp after doing considerable loader work. So far, I have not experienced this with the LX2610. Maybe because the area is not as cramped as the b7200 was.

Never owned a tractor until this one and it did take me a bit to get my footing correct.

I could do without it.

Maybe once I get everything rebuilt/greased/adjusted just right my love for it will increase. I find it clunky and not very good for extended usage. The two pedal setup is fatiguing for me and is much more 'car like' in that I can keep my heel on the floor and pivot my foot between the two pedals.
