Ok this has been a nightmare. My tractor was leaking fluid from around the drive shaft. I took it to a repair shop to be broken in half and a seal replaced as all the research I did said that was what needed to be done and the mechanic said the same thing. He had it for 10 months and I finally said I'm coming get it fixed or not. I got there and it was still broke in half and he was working on it. He got it back together a couple of days later and I went and got it. Now the 3 point hitch system doesn't work right, the transmission isn't working right either. When you put it in gear there is a lag before it moves or it won't move until you put it in or out of gear a couple of times. Also it moves at the same speed in all gears pretty much. The steering is working fine and I put the front loader on it and it works just fine and now I can raise the 3 point hitch while I'm tilting the bucket but it will only work while I'm tilting the bucket. Nothing if the bucket isn't being tilted at the same time. Everything I have read says it doesn't need to be bled so if there isn't air in it anyone have any experience with something like this? Thanks

It sounds like someone was careless in putting hydraulic lines back where they belong.
Where did you find this mechanic, shurley not at a Kubota dealer?
The loader valve will feed the 3 pt hitch if it has 7 lines connected to it.
A line out of place for the loader will create lots of weird issues for the 3 pt hitch and any other rear remotes.
It is important you post what type of transmission you have....... a GST perhaps.
No bleeding needed.

No he was not at the dealership. He is a local tractor mechanic that several farmers friends use and have used for several years but didn't work out for me. Yes it is a GST. That would make sense for the 3 point hitch, but wouldn't explain transmission issues I don't think. It will probably be headed for the dealership if I can't get it figured out. Oh and I forgot to mention the GST light is flashing and it is throwing error 61 as soon as you put it in gear and of course it wasn't doing that when I took it to him either. Thanks

10 months and it was broke in half when you saw it. Two days later he’s “done”. I suspect you well know where your new problems are coming from. Wishing you the best with the real fix (which wasn’t needed until this fellow got a hold of it).

Incompetence that was in a hurry to be “done”. He already knew you’d never let him “fix” anything you own at the point he’d had it for 10 mos and hadn’t “fixed”it.

You might think about small claims court to help pay for a portion of what Kubota is going to extract from you to untangle this mess. If that’s an option, get all your records together for the 10 month boondoggle that someone who wishes they were good at what they do had it for. Professional = get paid for it (not necessarily good or proficient at it).

It a hydraulic line issue, and yes that will effect an GST.
GST's require an exact pressure to work properly.
So any variance in that will effect the transmission.

first thing to check is that all loader lines are in the proper location, there are two posible setups that vary by serial number.
Just follow the lines and make sure they are going to the proper location on the block.

The next less likely issue could be the suction side of the system.
Look for wet spots.

Thanks for that information I will check that when I get out of work today. Just wondering though wouldn't that make the loader not work right if a line were hooked up wrong because it is working like it should. It's the only thing that is. LOL

If the PB and tank lines are swapped lines are swapped then the loader would work but anything after it won't, or as you stated. "I can raise the 3 point hitch while I'm tilting the bucket but it will only work while I'm tilting the bucket."

After rereading what you wrote on the first post I'm betting that's not the full issue.
Sounds like the major issue is in the GST section, possibly he left a electrical plug disconnected on the right side of the transmission case.
Leaving the control disconnected would explain the erratic operation and non shift situation.

I think there are 4 connection on thee transmission case:

Give that man a cigar. You are a scholar and a gentleman sir. You were exactly right about the lines being switched. I looked and followed the diagram you sent and switched them around. Cranked it up and the 3 point hitch worked just like it should and so did the loader. The transmission still has issues though. As soon as you put it in gear the warning error 61 starts flashing. It basically won't shift on the fly. When you put it in gear then engage it in forward if it is in 2nd gear then you shift to 3rd or 4th or 5th it stays the same speed and doesn't shift it seems or it will just stop pulling all together like it's in neutral. To get it to change you have to stop shift into N release the clutch then press the clutch and shift into whatever gear you want i.e. 5th then your in 5th to stay you can't go up or down without repeating the same action or if you say try to start in 3rd and release the clutch it just sits there. It seems like it won't move until I push it all the way down to like 9th or 10th then it will take off, then I can stop it and it will let me shift it into a lower gear. I will check those connections tomorrow when I go back over to the farm. They probably are not connected or are connected wrong. I noticed he didn't put any of the wires back to where they go with the hangers. He just left them all hanging loose so I will have to fix all that as well. Thanks again for the help. I will check the wires tomorrow.

Kinda sounds like one of my former bosses, if it was a car. I worked for him for 5 years, 2 customer cars that were there when I started and still there when I left. Good luck and hope it is a simple transmission fix.

Here is what it says for error 61
My bet is on a connector not connected or damaged wiring.

Well that would make sense. I checked the connections and they were all connected but when I went to start it the battery was dead. charged it up and tested it and it is good only 10 months old because I put it on when I took it to be fixed. So I took the alternator off and took it to the rebuild place and he hooked it up and said it was bad and not charging, so he is going to crack it open and see if he can rebuild it. In my thought process all that shifting looks to be electrical and if the alternator isn't putting out and battery may not be putting out enough volts to make it work right. I hope that is the problem anyway, but I usually don't get that lucky. We will see he is supposed to call me and let me know if he can rebuild it. Either way we will see if it works better when I get the alternator working again. Thanks for the information I will post results when I get the alternator working and back on. Thanks

OK well got the new alternator put on and it didn't fix the problems just my luck. Electrical is my weakest spot when it comes to working on things. It is throwing the first error 61 1 7 8 NG code which says solenoid 1 failure but I don't know what or which one is solenoid 1 and the solutions part doesn't make any sense to me. That seems like the problems I am having not the solutions. It says maybe replace the GST valve, that looks like the whole side of the transmission to me and looking it up is 3 thousand dollars from mesiks if I am looking at it right.

Read page 3-S47 in the WSM
It sounds like it might be your issue.

OK i finally got WSM and read all of that and went through the adjustments and it said ok to everything but still throwing the error 61 code. I checked the ground wire and looked for a short in the harness as best I could without pulling it all out and didn't see anything. The connector are all hooked up and look ok so I'm thinking solenoid. Does anyone have any experience with these? do they go bad often or is it rare? And can you just take that plate off and pop one out and put another one in or am I in over my head? Any input is appreciated thanks.
