You thinking Rut is over, or have they figured who's "The Boss"?Starting to hang out together. A week ago they were fighting. The 7 pointer on the right put a licking on the eight pointer. 8 pointer has been limping since they fought.
I think the rut is over as they have been together now a few days and hanging around the yard from 5pm until 6 or so the next morning. If the rut is on I would have thought they would be out chasing more. You thinking Rut is over, or have they figured who's "The Boss"?
Down here couple guys were thinking Rut was late, but not sure there was any scientific rationale involved.
I haven't hunted deer in many years (love venison). I think our Bow season starts 10/15, gun season 11/15 or so, and continues on until 12/31 one way or another to attract hunters. We have WAY too many deer. That said, I've seen more 200+ pound deer harvested lately than I ever recall.
There was a time a Rank buck could shed antlers by now, or not too long from now.
We’ll get a second weaker rut about 30-days after the first one, but now the bucks are just knocking each other off the line of scrimmage for whatever is left of the acorns and other stuff. They’re still hitting my clover and what’s left of the radish, kale and turnips every night.I think the rut is over as they have been together now a few days and hanging around the yard from 5pm until 6 or so the next morning. Sounds like mommy has an axis boyfriend on the side.I had a doe&fawn show this morning, the fawn still a few of her spots left, I dont ever recall seeing spots on a fawn this late in the year.
Different species, cannot breed.Sounds like mommy has an axis boyfriend on the side.
