Dick - what I took Mike to mean, at first, was that the amount/volume of shavings were extreme.I'm unclear on your meaning here - do you think the volume of debris is "extremely large" or are you saying that since it isn't enough to clog the filter it might not be so large after all?
I then gave him the link to the L3200 thread with similar condition. He said shavings looked the same, as in size/shape/color, but he had much less of them.
He said he did not think there were enough to plug the filter.
Those looked like the casting shavings I took from my BX screen at 50 hours. I could have filled a tablespoon....none since.
I took that as (hopefully) the HST components were not shredding...
I gave Mike some marching orders. Hopefully he will come back to report.
I sure hope it's an inexpensive fix....
Mike - were the filter(s) you took off painted gray or white?
