Hey there guys I just joined the Kubota family. Purchased a 2021 L2501D, 155 hours with the HST for a steal because it had a problem. It doesn’t want to move very fast. Runs great, starts right up, PTO spins and the hydraulics have plenty of power. Seems to move the best in M. If I lightly press the HST pedal forward or back it starts moving but very slowly and whines a little. If I press any more then it’ll stop and won’t move at all. Hydraulic fluid/hst fluid was slightly lower on sight glass(still visible) so I topped it up but that didn’t help. Any ideas guys? I’m kinda lost here.

pedal free travel outta be an inch or two.
I tried to back it off a little but it’s as loose as it’ll go. Doesn’t look like it hanging up the clutch pivot lever. Lever seems to be returning to where it needs to be.

If the clutch is slipping, the PTO will stop turning when the tractor stalls.

First... you didn't buy an L2501D, that's a gear tractor.
You bought a L2501H or formally called a L2501HST.

If you can put something on the PTO and run it and it keeps running (not just free wheeling) when the tractor won't move then it an HST issue.

If the PTO and the tractor movement both stop, you need to address the clutch and pressure plate.

Fast is relative. What RPM are you running? Should be 2250 or so at max.

Ok thanks for the correction. Thought I saw l2501d on it somewhere. PTO slows wayyyyy down (almost stops) when the tractor doesnt move and hst pedal being pushed. So clutch issue. The HST are single disk correct?

Yes it's a single disk clutch.
So yes it's a fried disk or pressure plate, Replace both of those and the pilot bearing / bushing and the throw-out bearing while your in there.

Way cheaper to do that, than work on the HST.

Glad it was something cheap and not the HST. Any good sources for the clutch? Dealer? Thanks for the help. I have a fun weekend ahead of me!

Yea dealer is going to be your best option.
That disk looks to be hard to get, might take a little bit to get one.

These are the 4 Parts to get:
Clutch disk: 6A110-13270
Pressure plate: 6C040-13300
Throw-out bearing: 08490-00001
Pilot Bearing: 08121-06002 (Being as new as it is, this would be optional, but your already there)

FYI: L2501D parts are different.

Gotcha I’ll double check on the model number and do some calling around.

Looked up tractors for sale and there are a few L2501Ds for sale with the HSTs.
Kubota is just trying to drive us all insane!
An L2501D is a geared 4wd tractor
An L2501F Is a geared 2wd tractor
An L2501H is an HST 4wd Tractor

I’ll just call them and give them the vin and let them figure it out lol!
Oh that's scary!
Some kubota parts guys are... Well we'll just say special!
The part numbers I gave you are the right part numbers. ;)

If you don't have a local dealer that you can walk in and pick up parts, save some abuse and call Coleman's Equipment, they will be about the quickest and cheapest in getting you parts.

Awesome I’ll order those then haha. Messicks has 5-10 days back order on that clutch disk but I’ll call Coleman’s and ask them.
