Thanks TBK5x, spot on.

now I’m even more confused. still not shutting off.
I have two GR2120s, I have checked fuses, changed solonoid and timer relay.
I’m about to dive in on the switch then wiring.

anyone got any suggestions?
it’s so frustrating…

You need a wiring diagram. kubotabooks.com has a WSM for the GR2100EC. Maybe the wiring is similar.

Does the stop solenoid actuate (audible click or you can watch it move) when you turn the key on (without starting) and release when you turn the key off (delayed). You should also test your key switch.

How did you shut it off?

We're all talking about the fuel cutoff solenoid and not the starter solenoid, correct?

Grab, move and hold the plunger in the \opposite direction to wherever it is when the things running.
(presumably it's outside running right now, correct?)

I gave up on it. Simply ran a cable and pull knob to my dash. To turn the machine off, I simply turn off the key and pull the knob. EZ. Nothing to break or burn out

Cables don't break? Do you also have ocean front property in Arizona?
It's a very stout cable and not doing anything strenuous. Only pulling on the fuel shutoff. So, yeah who knows.......................might wear out after 100 years of that use.
