Back in the day growing up in Maine we always attended the Fryeburg Fair in Fryeburg Maine. 160 yrs straight its been going. Its always the first week in October. Sunday to Sunday. And we were always bundled up. Hats gloves long johns. Looking to the northwest from the fairgrounds Mt.Washington was always white with snow and the wind coming from that meant the fair had snow flurries throughout the week. BUT today it was 72* out and tomorrow its gonna hit 80*...my how times change.

It's not global warming.
I agree. It's global turning. The weather goes through cycles. Look at the weather records for the turn of the 20th century, and it was as warm/warmer than it is now, and that is before the industrial age.
We have had a very cool summer here in VA, with a ton of rain, and have already had a frost. Go figure.

We have had a ton of rain this summer also, I figure if you get it in the summer , you won't in the winter. ....SO remind me in April 2014.....I'm saying the winter here in the northeast will be cold and dry....with very little snow is my forecast for winter.

From Wikipedia,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Industrial_Age#p-search
The Industrial Age is a period of history that encompasses the changes in economic and social organization that began about 1760 in England and later in other countries, characterized chiefly by the replacement of hand tools with power-driven machines, as the power loom and the steam engine, and by the concentration of industry in large establishments.

Historical point taken, but scientists primarily blame global warming on industry and automobiles from the 20th century. Some awful warm winters were recorded before cars were on the road. I don't buy global warming- it has been a political advantage and a big cash machine.

Some place I read a while back that they figure one large volcanic eruption spews out as much if not more pollutants in to the air than the entire industrial revolution. And as I recall way back in the 1970's these same people were saying that we were headed in to another ice age,,, that didn't happen either,, So I don't buy all the crap that these so called experts tell the new media, cause if you look very closely in to their back ground, they have a very clear agenda for some very power full people Just MHO you understand

Ok, so I live right smack dab in the middle of Ohio. The soils here are developed as a result of 3 to 4 different glacial advances (depending on which part of Knox county you live in) the latest of which was the Wisconsinan glaciation somewhere between 5 and 12,000 years ago (depending on your expert). A little research shows that we've been in a general warming/glacial recession trend ever since that time (with a few insignificant blips along the way). Given those circumstances I'm inclined to believe that, yeah, the climate changes, yeah, it's been getting warmer (as evidenced by the continual recession of the glaciers) but no, we probably really don't have much to do with it. That doesn't mean we shouldn't manage resources responsibly, but some of this stuff lately goes a little far.
I wonder if our ancient ancestors were in a panic when they realized the last glacier had receded from Mount Vernon to Detroit (must've been caused by excess mammoth flatulence. I'll bet you thought the mammoths became extinct naturally, they were actually the first victims of climate change legislation)

Al Gore has made a FORTUNE off of global warming, how can it NOT be true?
There is one major factor influencing global warming. Hint: it's that great big round bright thing that is almost directly overhead most days around noon if you are outside.

I don't know about global warming, but 89 degrees in Oct in the mountains of nth Ga is not normal. We'Re supposed to be doing fall color cruises but instead, the trees are still green and the grass is still growing.

While on the West Coast we have much colder than normal weather. Snow levels 1000 feet lower than normal and a very wet Autum. Leaves turning color 3 weeks before normal and black ice already. Yeah, I guess Global Warming is real. NOT!
