Would someone who owns one of the models listed below mind measuring the ID of the fuel tank fill neck on your tractor (to the nearest 1/16”) and posting that in a reply?

My model did not come with a tank inlet strainer, but supposedly these did. I’d like to determine whether the strainer for those would fit my fill neck.

Thank you in advance!!

Strainer only catches big chunks. Just filter your fuel before it goes in the tractor.
Ditto. Just pick up some Mr. Funnel funnels. They will filter out junk and any water in the fuel as well.

This doesn't help you but how are you fueling it (ie 5 gal can with funnel, 55 gal drum with pump and nozzle)?

That fuel strainer on your tank fill inlet could save you a ton of trouble down the road. It is not meant to filter your fuel at all, but to keep miscellaneous debris from getting into your tank. Do a search on this site and you will encounter numerous threads of garbage in the fuel tank, from insects to leaves, that clog up the tank outlet. It only takes a moment for this stuff to get into the tank when you have the cap off. The screen shown is permanently located in the filler neck, anything going into the tank has to make it thru the screen.

Yup on debris falling in. First time I cleaned water separator there was an alfalfa leaf and a couple of horse hairs on it. Good idea to use funnel, strainer, and brush off coat before fueling. Avoid windy dusty days in the barn.:eek::eek:

Use a piece cut out of Flip’s felt hat. Genuine felt is a great filter and catches water also. :p

07wingnut, if I could trouble you, what is the OD of the plastic neck on that strainer in your photo, and where did you get it? TIA!

Ok, I got the measurement, and this is on a 2005 kubota BX23. The ID of the filler neck is 3 inches. The screen shown, is actually a tea strainer bought off Ebay, from a chinese supplier, cut off and sandwiched in between two different diameter pvc rings. The handle was added to facilitate removal for cleanout. I hope this helps.

That screen is made from a tea strainer purchased from Ebay. However, a quick search did not show the original one used on the BX23, but there are plenty of other ones, one of which might satisfy what you need.

If you can wait, I'll measure my B7100, but not sure when that will be.

I like the fact it keeps crap out of the tank, but it does slow the flow down when filling.

That looks just like the one on my L175.
Takes longer to fuel, and if you're not careful you can either poke a hole in it, or push it into the tank.
