I’ve got a 06’ MX-5000. I’d been moving brush for several hours up and down a hill. On my last run going downhill the engine started knocking very bad (similar to when it’s in too high of a gear) then the engine shut off. I tried to start it while I was stopped on the downslope but it wouldn’t. I wanted to get the brush to the bottom of the hill so I coasted to the brush pile and lowered my front end loader. I didn’t have time to do any troubleshooting bc I had to leave town for work. I had my wife try to start it yesterday and she said it only cranked initially then blew out a lot of smoke and started up. I had her move it into the barn and shut it off and try to restart. She did this and it started up multiple times.
Any suggestions or ideas? Yes it started but I suspect it will do this again. Is there something in the fuel tank or a fuel pump that could cause it to stop on a downslope if it’s going bad? Thanks for any help
