Modified welders "vise grips" (per a long ago OTT post) work fine for me to open my pioneer style couplings.
To each their own.
FWIW, for Pioneer style, the cost would be <$50. Keeps the couplers clean as well.
Edit- hydraulics direct has better prices. $25 ish

You mentioned that before so I tried it. The pressure still builds and I had to loosen a connector with a wrench once again. It wouldn't be cheap, but a pair of connectors with a valve between might be the answer if one wants to connect together.
I think the key for it to work is to not store the implement with the cylinders and the bottom of the stroke on either end.
I've been doing it for years and have no issues.
I've unhooked implements at the coldest of winter temps and reattached them in the warmest of summer temps and it works.
Granted some implements or cylinders might behave different than what I have, so then yes a couple of couplers with a bleed off valve would work perfectly.

Would you explain please ,maybe not enough coffee this morning
Store the implements with the cylinders at any point other than the ends of their strokes and couple the implement lines together and you should have less issues.

Now that does appear to be a solution, the pressure would be the same throughout the system but may not go higher than what it takes to move cylinders. I'll give it a try next time.
