NIW "If it were mine, I would drain all fluids, add the 4 quarts and mark the dipstick."
Exactly what I was thinking,![Wink ;) ;)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
when I got my 2nd B7100 - the stopper was not present, the dipstick was broken off somewhere new the full mark, how the hell that happens I have no idea.
I took heat shrink tape and cut small short pieces so the handle would fit nicely into the block and stop - I had to beat and stretch the broken end until it would touch the oil level. I use the stick out of my other B7100 to guide me as to what full should be.
The oil level on that engine is under 4 quarts - more like 3.2 quarts - but I would still make a high and low mark whichever quantity you select. Drilling a hole might not be the best idea, a small nick with a grinder would be perfect on the thin edge, even a file mark would suffice.
Mark sure you are on dead balls level ground - especially when making your initial marks.![Big grin :D :D](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
