Almost there. I got to paint the headers at the bay doors and install that trim. And still find someone that sells and installs bay doors out here...

An old farmer drove to a neighbor's and knocked at the door.
A boy, about 9, opened the door.
The farmer asked, "Is your Dad home?"
The boy replied, "No sir, he isn't; he went to town."
The farmer said, "Well, is your Mother here?"
The boy said, "No sir, she went to town with Dad."
The farmer said, "How about your brother, Howard? Is he here?"
The boy said, "No sir, He went with Mom and Dad."
The rancher stood there for a few minutes, shifting from one foot to the other, and mumbling to himself.
The boy said, "Is there anything I can do for you? I know where all the tools are, if you want to borrow one, or I can give dad a message."
"Well," said the rancher uncomfortably, "I really wanted to talk to your Dad. It's about your brother Howard getting my daughter, Suzie, pregnant."
The boy thought for a moment, "You would have to talk to Dad about that. I know he charges $500 for the bull and $50 for the hog, but I don't know how much he charges for Howard."

GRASSES have DNA that tells them specifically how tall to grow. Keep cutting, it knows it needs to reach a certain height to seed, procreate. Plant NATIVE AMERICAN BUFFALO GRASS, you’ll never have to mow it, never need to reseed, never need to FERTILIZE.

Over half of what you see NOW in plants on the AMERICAN PRAIRIE are from seeds intentionally or unintentionally brought over by European and Asian settlers in the great waves from the 1850’s-1920’s, including the iconic TUMBLEWEEDS which are from Russia and post-date the Old West, like the ubiquitous Russian Olive Trees.

The ORIGINAL TALLGRASS PRAIRIE was remarkably easy to farm as it had been apparently terraformed for over 4,000 years by the local tribes with composting and charcoal soil-building, rock and tree removal, watercourse changing with hand-digging, so like many other settlers like the Plymouth Pilgrims the newcomers essentially walked onto ready to go prime farmland unlike having to chop down thousands of trees to access very thin natural topsoils depleted after a few years of corn, tobacco, or cotton crop monoculture planting.

As one got further West to much shallower topsoils (the Midwest’s might be as much as 40″ deep like Iowa’s while further West it can be less than 4″ deep or barely present at all) and sparse enough rainfall that’s it rated as semi-arid desert, the “Shortgrass Prairie” is more 1–2′ tall with mostly the same mix of grasses and plants.

Walter Prescott Webb’s “The Great Plains” is a great book to start with on this question while prarie ecology’s been studied heavily only in the past few decades.

They said it was gonna hit Mexico, then Brownsville, then Parde Island, Corpus Christi, Rockport, Port of Conner, etc. now east Matagorda.

At one point we were in the direct path. lol

now our rain chances is 40% tomorrow and less than 25% for the reminder of the week.
So it looks the cows will get hay on Tuesday.

We didn't get a drop last night from that low headed south. And since the storm keeps moving east, boy did our rain chances drop significantly. Beryl needs to go another 30 to 40 miles east, because now our bay house is now a bit of concern.

Yes it seems to be a bust for most of Texas that needs the rain. We (Austin) were looking forward to getting the rain and now almost zero chance.

I got some escort from the county and mixed to spray some young hedge and locust. Going to see how it does this week. Only mixed a small potion for a test area.

Got another 2/10ths yesterday evening/night. I'm hoping for another round of afternoon showers this evening. Atleast we have a few rain chances over the next few days.

Good to hear you're getting some rain. We got 1.5" and it's still drizzling. Night and day with the foliage already.
