From what I've read 'legally' EA didn't go bankrupt (ie: file BANKRUPTCY papers..) instead is trying to 'restructure the business model to stay IN business, part of which was selling some assets to pay DOWN, not OFF debts.
However when you look at the 'numbers', EA is/was millions in the red, so us mere mortals WOULD call EA bankrupt.
Frankly I don't know how ANY supplier would deal with EA unless it was COD. I know ,different land, different laws but most have heard of 'once bitten, twice shy' ?
I've had 2 customers, both several million a year businesses formally declare bankruptcy here in Ontario.BOTH did the same 'run around'. On a long holiday weekend , moved most of the assets to a new location and use a new incorporated business name. One stiffed 255 suppliers. Since my energy mgmt system also doubled as security, even if a wire was cut, the trustees made sure I was 'made whole'. The others got about 5 cents on the dollar

Ted is back in business and pumping out attachments just like the old days. Why on earth anyone would support or trust him now is beyond me. But they're buying from him again....
I would definitely buy from Ted again!
He made/makes the best attachments available!
Of course I would cancel, withing the CC grace period, if I had not already received my order.
I see that as essentially being risk free.

How do we know that the quality will be the same as before they screwed up? If they are trying to recover then they are probably cutting costs wherever possible and that MAY affect the products. Personally, I would wait and see how things go before ordering, similar to the first model year for a new vehicle.

Because they made good stuff? Because now you "pay when it ships"? According to what I have read any way.

I have one EA rake bought several years ago and am pleased with it. But I would think long and hard before buying anything else from them. And only if "pay when shipping" is a reality.

If payment is by credit card, and non delivery dispute (if necessary) is filed within CC dispute time limit, I would devote more worry effort to avoid getting hit by a truck while crossing the street.

I personally think it to be foolish to order from a company with the thought that who cares if I get screwed the CC company will take care of it.
There are plenty of other companies out there that make top notch equipment and do not have a history of screwing over their customers.

I've always wondered HOW or WHY anyone would wait 4-6-or more MONTHS for an implement !
Usually I need stuff now, at least within the month, depending on the job the customer expects me to do and of course Mother Nature dictates WHEN certain things HAVE to be done.
As HH points out there are many other sources for equipment, maybe not IDENTICAL to what EA used to sell, but perfectly acceptable for the task it's needed for NOW.

Five years ago I needed pallet forks for my BX23S, called the dealer... didn't have the LP version in stock, had HLA, but $100 more. I said great, 10 minutes later , they're in my truck, 20 on my tractor, 50 later finished the job the customer wanted done. That one job paid for the forks even the extra 100 they cost.

Most of us here on OTT, are not in a for profit landscaping/earthmoving business.
We are much more patient, and are willing to wait for the GOOD things to come to us!
I think the term most often used is: Planning ahead!

Yeah, I mean sometimes I need something "now". Buying an impliment or attachment isn't a "now" thing for me. If I have a significant project coming up, I plan for it. Weeks or months ahead of time. The 4 month wait for EA didn't bother me. Neither did the 8 week lead time from Homestead.

I think a lot of you are basing a lot of your information on a bunch of rumors and false speculation on his / their business dealings and what really happened.
If your going to throw mud at the wall be prepared to trowel it out and make it pretty and make sure it sticks or be prepared to spend the time cleaning it off completely!

yeah 'refunds' so you can get 'on the list' at another place, cause they're backed up as well.
Patience is a virtue that some folks do lack.
Trust me!
Waiting for a TOP quality attachment from EA is worth the time.
You have OBVIOUSLY NEVER bought an attachment from EA.
Unfortunately, they DO NOT offer "free" shipping to Ontario, Canada.

Promise you, I'm not an EA fanboy! I don't get concerned about what, why, how or anything else they did. I have no interest.

I actually purchase used equipment when I find it and think I might ever need it. Every implement I own was purchased way before I needed it, usually because it was at a very discounted price compare to a new item. I also discover used implements are every bit as functional as purchased new, even if I need to do some modifying, and I enjoy doing the modifications to suit my needs.

I do find this thread expresses folks personalities.

You're right, the local Kubota dealer( 7 minutes away) had in STOCK the pallet forks that I needed(which has survived 5 years of use/abuse...), the rest of the attachments I've made as required.

My customers expect their jobs to be done in a timely fashion, waiting weeks let alone moths is NOT an option.

I think this notion that EA makes the best attachments is overblown. Yes, they make good attachments, but there are many companies that are equal and some are better. My Bison blade is far beefier than anything made by EA.

Lowry Manufacturing Co (LMC) makes a HD box blade every bit as HD as the EA equivalent. Don't know about prices, I got mine used at an auction.

I too would buy used implements/attachments if I could.
I live in a wide area of mostly semi suburban retirees.
Non tractor folks.
Used implements are generally unobtanium within 100+ miles

Many/most of us here on OTT, do not have any "customers", and do not want any "customers"!
