I have a service Error-87 on my L45 TLB. I replaced the Revolution sensor by the oil filter with a new one hoping that would solve the issue but it did not. The tractor has 500 hours on it.

The tractor was working fine, then I got the error for a couple days and then it went back to working fine. Then it went back out again, came back to normal and now has finally given out and won’t go away even with the new part. Anyone have any suggestions on what to check? I did look at the wiring I could see for a break but didn’t see anything obvious . Perhaps there is a way to confirm the sensor is good with a meter?

There 'should' be some kind of test proceedure in the WSM for your tractor.

The 'revolution sensors' I use, are in simple terms, a coil of wire around a metal core. Good ones show a certain resistance, bad ones, 'infinite' or 'open'. If yours is a two wire device, probably similar.

Basic checks like Jay said can be done with a meter. An oscilloscope would tell the whole story though.
