I have a Woodland Mills chipper on the way and I’m wondering how to engage the PTO then dismount to feed the chipper. If I remember correctly, the seat safety switch will kill the engine once the weight comes off.

I am not familiar with your machine so my recommendation would be to check your manual (always go to the manual).

For my B and the WC-68, I put the transmission in neutral, set the brake and engage the rear PTO and then raise PTO to 540.

I assume your L may be similar but a quick check of the manual may explain better / correctly for you machine.

edit: yes and as Dave from state up north says, flip seat up.

L3200 and L3901, same as above, transmission in N, set park brake, engage pto, then lift and tilt seat forward as you exit.

As you raise your body up, grab hold of the back of the seat and raise it as you get up. Lean it on top of the steering wheel... You don't have to set the brakes. although a good idea but not needed on the HST model. Do you have the manual transmission?

With my B2650 I need only to have the parking brake engaged and trans in neutral to be able to get off the seat and engage the rear PTO.

My 2022 LX3310 (MOD EDIT TO the right Model not a L3301 as stated) has a button on the dash just for this. The procedure is:

My L48 TLB seat safety switch quit working......right after I jumpered it.

Yep, look in your manual, every model could have a slight variation in the process.
