Oh Man, that's nasty even when you're use to heat. But when it's 20 deg above normal highs it's unbearable. Hope you have some ice in front of your fan!!

I remember overnights in Boise years back with 106F!!!
Spokane at 105F. I had my first digital camera and wanted pictures of Marmots. It took me an hour to find any.
Fortunately, I missed Seattle at 102F.

Anything close to 90 shuts me right down. With temps like that, I would be camped out in front of the AC with the backup generator ready to fire up...just in case!

I do believe that we have all been spoiled.

When I was younger, heat didn't seem to bother me. Of course back then, no one had A/C so we didn't know any better.

I remember driving all over the deserts in Arizona and California without A/C since only very rich could afford to put an electric A/C in their car. You couldn't even order most cars with factory A/C back then.

We would stop to look at rock formations and plant life for hours at a time. The big thing was to keep your head covered to prevent the blood in your head from getting to hot.

Mickeyd, that reminds me how times have changed. Kids now days can't go to school if the AC quits working.

When I was in grade school it was on Okinawa. Temperatures in the mid 90's and humidity near 100%. School was in a Quonset hut. Only a couple of windows, no AC. Be like having school in a 24' dia. pipe!

Wow, that’s hot!

Early July it was hotter in upstate New York than Miami for a couple days. We’re not used to that stuff!

It's usually in the 100's this time of year here. But we only hit 85 Thursday, and 93 yesterday. Course Thursday we were getting some much needed rain and Temps were actually in the 70's till the sun came out.

Not only my grade school but the high school I went to was built in the 20's and of course no one cared about A/C in schools then.

No A/C in grade or high school when I went either. We are conditioned to the heat and humidity down here but I don’t know if I would last long with some of the winters some of you go through.

106° in Deer Park yesterday. Folks commenting about end times while this SoCal transplant be like, “This is nothing”. As long as the air was dry, it’s always bearable.

I once trained in New Jersey prior to the Olympics and there was a heat wave. 110° PLUS humidity! Slept in dorms with NO AC! If we managed to sleep at all, we’d wake up with the bed sheets soaking wet from sweat! Now THAT blows!

Some years ago, I traveled home from a Baker to Vegas relay race (a law enforcement friendly competition) when we stopped in Baker (home of the world tallest thermometer) in the dead of the summer & blazing hot afternoon for a drink when a tour bus pulled up and all the folks spilled out as if this place was THE destination, not a stop. Driver finally steps off and looked our way & noticed our dumbfounded “What gives?” look. He shrugs and says “German tourists.” Apparently, they have a fascination for HOT places but unfortunately for them, they came when the temp was 23° shy of the 134° record. [emoji41]

Just be on the lookout for Germans & charge them a buck or two for standing in your yards.

heat, heat, heat....blah, blah, blah...

It's the humidity that gets ya!

I'll take 100 degrees & 10% humidity over 80 degrees & 80% humidity any day!
