Dog bombs- picking up implement?

I actually have not used that gizzmo for several years. As a leaf vac. we have a zero turn and in the Fall I just put a set of blades designed for chopping leaves. That's all that's needed, so it sets.

I would not want one with the engine, etc on it. Especially if it needed work.

I think Dave has a super idea. I'd try vacuuming up the piles without water to get whatever you could. Sometime you will get the whole pile. If you're not satisfied after the initial vacuum, then apply the water in a mist (not a spray) just to dampen and loosen the pile, then vacuum it all up!

Been a while, but I was out near this thing so I got a couple of pictures. It originally had a much larger dump container on the back. I made it smaller, but the tractor I had was too small for continual use (B8200) and my wife didn't think it was important enough to have a 60 HP tractor picking up Fall leaves!
But they are vacuuming machines!

Have you thought of a Lawn Sweeper? The ones I have used in the past pick up everything pretty much. (Including doggy doo).The Nylon bristles are easily cleaned with a water hose, and the hopper washes well also. The cost is negligible at around $300. I know it is a "mechanical" way to pick them up, and could sling fresh poo, but if you could alternate areas and let the fresh stuff dry out a bit, it shouldn't be too creamy. A day should do it in warm sunny conditions. Just a thought.

I just drive over them. Dog does his "business" in the area defined by his long rope. The Boxer is a big 90 lbs, and it shows, if you know what I mean....

I just make sure I do that area first; otherwise the tires are smelly when I pull into the garage, and the Mrs. let's me know....

Picking it up is a problem in itself. Either a shovel and bucket or something mechanical like you're wanting to find. My question is, what to you do with five gallons of dog crap? How do you dispose of it to keep from having an ever increasing in size monstrous pile of fermenting, stinking, fly attracting dog excrement? You put it in a septic system, put it in a pit and lime it or what?

With 30 dogs at a time its a safe guess that you're either in an industrial area or rural area with no close neighbors.

As someone previously mentioned - my Cyclone Rake sucks the dog piles off the lawn pretty good. Usually dried out a day or so though...
