Diesel Transfer Tank Build

I have a 165-gallon Roth tank in my garage to fuel the BX and my 4-cylinder Lister Petter generator. The problem is that the price of fuel has skyrocketed and getting it filled requires a truck to come to the home. My old fuel oil dealer who used to supply my inground tank has said that if he has a delivery in the neighborhood he will stop by. He hasn't been by in 2 years. The last price that I saw for fuel oil was $3.65 a gallon. I will continue to use 5-gallon cans filled with 3 gallons of fuel till I get the tank filled. I like to have enough fuel on hand to keep the generator running for 7 - 10 days if the power goes out.
Since I got a bunch of angle iron and the eyebolts, I decided to get more done on my transfer tank. I built a lifting cradle. The eye-bolts really pulled my project together. I'll lag bolt the cradle to the timbers, and 45° cut the metal corners so no ankles get zapped.

Have you considered making a fixture that will hold the tank high enough that you can gravity-feed the BX? I didn't think of it, but you could have had a bung installed at the bottom side of the tank, hooked a ball valve to that, and a hose to the tractor. Gravity feed is both fast and easy. All you would need is an automatic shut-off nozzle.
I did consider GF. The problem is it would need to be stationary, and a solid stand. I don't have the space. I know my transfer tank is more elaborate than what's necessary. I like to keep my mental juices flowing. If my creation doesn't fit the bill, I'll rethink things and go at things another way.
I'm with you. I'd be willing to see how it played out just to have that fuel on hand. Ends up taking me 45 minutes to get 5 gallons of off-road, which I'm needing quite often at the moment.

I took (4) five-gallon tanks with me to get off-road diesel as fuel can be hard to get when the computers go down, and in the middle of nowhere they're not exactly reliable.

Nice setup. 50 gallons should be about right for one tractor and the ability to haul back and forth.
As far as filling at a gas station is concerned lots of trucks have a fuel tank / tool box that can't be set on the ground for filling. Pretty sure that rule is just for cans but I have filled cans on my tailgate on numerous occasions without encountering any intervention.
I have a 100 gallon aluminum tank from a Freightliner I bought from a salvage yard for $130. I use a 12V transfer pump powered off a deep cycle battery that remains charged by a solar panel on the roof of my barn. I added a mechanical gauge, shutoff nozzle, and water block filter. I'm all in around $300 not counting my solar setup. I have fuel delivered most of the time. I treat with Biobor JF for algae and lubricity. Haven't had any problems.
I have a MEP803A diesel generator, JD 4310 and a NH575E backhoe in addition to my LX3310. I could use a larger tank. I was going through about 3 tanks a year when I was clearing land. Already had a 3 day power outage from the last hurricane this year. Will probably have to fill up once or twice more before the year is out. Hopefully not because of generator time. It burns about .7 GPH.

You got yourself a nice set-up! Right now, my tank feeds my BX23S only, for the time being. No need, but can fill it all the way. Currently, my genset is a gasser, and we get more than our share of power outages every year. When this unit craps out, I plan a diesel generator. For fuel additives, I use what someone here recommended, along with many locals for the coastal WA area. It seems to do the trick.

Clearing land is what's making me jealous of your tank solutions. Not in the cards for me at the moment though.

Yes, those are wheel chocks screwed down on pieces of landscape timbers on a piece of pressure treated plywood. The barn floor is a 4" thick layer of crushed red brick.
