I know there was a lot info on the noisy whine produced with the LX2610 in H at hi speed.
why is the whine different using treadle pedal … vs using the speed selector?
pedal seems normal whine …. Selector much louder ?

I'm a little confused what you mean by the selector whining.
You will get more whine the higher the range you are in.

What I am taking from what you say it is this:
The tractor will go X speed in all 3 ranges. Say 8mph. It will go this speed using the pedal in all ranges, but the higher the range the harder the tractor has to work to achieve this - therefore the more whine. To continue this, if you want to go, say 10 mph, you could use mid or high range. If you use mid, you have less whine. If you use high you get more whine but you have the potential to get more speed.

If I am off your track I apologize but I still can't quite make sense of what you are asking.

You're over thinking...
The way I read it is he goes down the road using only the pedal = normal whine.
Goes down the road - same rpm, same speed - engages speed control = more whine.

I don't have this option on my BX but I thought the speed control (per Wolfman's diagram) was for field work and cruise control was for road travel.

Cruise control on my LX2610 & 3310 was far louder than using the treddle pedal.
