I kept looking at how the cables are on the battery and I finally see a problem. The battery she is using is like the one pictured below. Not exactly sure how she has the cables connected to these square posts.

Okay, now a clear picture of the battery and cable ends would be really helpful (no charging clamps obstructing the view).

This comment is minor compared to getting it up and working.

Picture shows a solar AGM battery. What is needed is a "starting" battery. Starting batteries deliver high amps for a short period.

AGM batteries have a different charging profile than lead acid batteries. The charging controllers are different.

Something to look at later.

Little Mia, how about an update of what you've tried, and a better pic of the battery terminals?

If you do need to buy a battery, it looks like a group size 26F fits (or possibly a larger group size 35)

Guess she solved it or got busy on other things. Sounded like she was up sh*ts creek without the tractor. Kinda hard to tell if she tried any of the advise given in this thread. Kinda wasted read for me on this one. Learned nothing so far at least. Not even the initial reason for pulling the battery out. lol

Hi Mia!
Most people don’t go back and read the earlier posts much…. So if you can, instead of editing an old post, please post a new one!
(You can always copy the old one, then paste into a new one!)
Cheers!

I did and am still curious what she needed the battery info for unless she thought it was not preforming properly. Could be a clue. I don’t think most tractor owners pull a battery for specs or info if it’s working like it should. Sorry was just following along and probably no help.

That is a mystery, but more of a mystery to me is why she did it while running. I've learned to use my phone to grab a picture of the hidden side of something, when able of course.

You can put a round clamp on those in a pinch

Among other problems noted about the battery, her statement that it is a "damn near brand new battery" has me wondering how a brand new battery can get in such bad shape. That battery looks older than my 11 year old battery in my tractor. Anyway, my bet is that the trouble is all battery related and nothing to do with wiring.

I guess I'd still like to hear how this story turned out?
