I had a large piece of lumber fall on the hood of my L3200 and put a rather large dent in it. Repair shop wanted at least $300 to fix and because it was on a crease I'd most likely be left with some bare metal. The tractor is 8 years old and shows the effects of use. That mostly being scuffs from tree branches and some fading of the paint. So that meant touch up the dented area, which would look terrible. Paint the hood, which would look poorly and be expensive, or paint the whole tractor, which was out of the question.
Now I know this won't be for everybody, but... I took off all painted parts, beat the dent out best I could with a mallet, sanded, sanded, more sanding. Sprayed primer on any bare metal, and used a product called Raptor Liner. I'm not done, going to apply what I hope will be a smoother top coat, but I'm pretty happy. Oh, found a company that produced a Kubota orange tint. I'm pointing at the dent.
