Anyone know how to find what the dealer cost of a unit is? I am considering a new L2501.
I would be VERY surprised if you could actually get a hard number for dealer cost of the particular tractor you are considering.

simply hack into the dealer's computer........if you don't have the skills, ,hire a 12 year old....
it's crazy how easy some 'business systems' are to get into.....

Buy at the business year end at the end of the month from the sales guy with the lowest sales and get the machine that has been sitting on the lot for 2 years and 11 months. You will have a good idea of the machine's cost at that point because the dealer will have to start making payments on THEIR machine.

Good luck with your shopping. I think dealers are a bit more open to some discounts today with supply expanding a bit, as opposed to a year or two ago. That said, I'd be surprised if you could get much more than 10% off MSRP, but it doesn't hurt to try. Let us know how it goes.

That there is an enigma, wrapped in riddle, and boxed in a Koyosegi Puzzle box.

I have worked at many car dealerships and since there are about 100 things that dictate "dealer cost", I suspect you will never actually find out with any degree of certainty.

There are all kinds of things like "special incentive" programs to "dealer volume discounts" to last minute "Kubota needs to move 1,457 more L2501's" programs.

Not to mention your location....

I will tell you this....I paid 18,900 plus tax for mine in Dec of 2021 at a dealer in northern MI. That included the telescoping draw bars (L8340) and a QH-15

OK, here's the update. (BTW I'm a terrible negotiator) I went to the the Kubota website and built a 2023 L2502 with a FEL to get a MSRP. The dealer offered me about 3% off MSRP cash price to start. I countered with 10% off both the tractor and a Land pride RCF 2060. He wouldn't go for it and said there was not enough profit margin, so we settled on about 5% off both units which was about $3000 higher than a John Deere 3025 with their 2060 rotary cutter. Anyway, I'm liking the unit a lot and put it right to work.

Excellent. I think it worked out well for you and you have the tractor, which is the most important part.

Great decision for staying away from JD. Their products and quality don't even come close to Kubota's quality and value. I've experienced it hands on with my dealings with all our churches JD products. Our church has 3 JD machines bought new. Problems are common with the hydraulics including the steering pumps.
I wear an orange Kubota hat with pride. I have zero problems with my tractor and equipment.

That sounds like a good outcome. You negotiated yourself a better deal than was initally offered. Maybe you can push and get more, maybe not. But you improved your situation vs not putting in the effort.

It's a shame the Equine discount isn't what it used to be as that'd be a no-brainer for you. But can you layer the current discount on top of what they're offering?

Hmm, by that metric December 2025 might be an interesting time to buy for folks who can wait.

In this area, as of April this year CUTs much less front end loaders (of any make) were unheard of, with 1-year order time and no price guarantee. Now they're in regular stock! Kinda shocking how fast things swung around.
