BearBait, you just nailed me !!!! I'm coming down with the CRS syndrome. I'll walk 30 yards from the house to the shop and will have forgotten what I went to get! ! I talked to my doctor, who I graduated school with, about it and all he told me was that the superb herb from our high school and college days catches up with us all at different times.
Lol, I know where you're coming from, been a lot of hard miles put on this poor old body over the years.

When one looks back at all the ridicules, stupid, idiotic episodes one does when they think they are immortal, doesn't it make you wonder how you made it this long?

Sobering is an understatement. Bloody depressing if you ask me! I hate it when A. The docs pat you on the head and basically say well what do you expect, you're old, or B. Recommend some procedure or operation that has about a 50 % failure rate.

...or the blackface you'd forgotten you'd once donned at a party 30 years ago came back to ruin your career while others hope it advances theirs.

(If he'd wanted to mimic Michael Jackson at a dance-contest... shouldn't he have donned "whiteface" instead?)

I'll drink to that my friend. Speaking of that I forgot just today. Wife and I went out and decided to grab a pizza slice to take away the growls. Well we were sitting in the truck having lunch when ford truck pulls in and parks in between a couple cars and for some unknown reason he decides to pull out and turn our way but he cut it too hard and hit the car beside him and the pulled in beside us and I thought he was going to get out and check the damage to both vehicles but instead backs back out and proceeds to leave. That is when I laid on the horn and he stopped before he could get anywhere. I got out of my truck and walked up to his window and let him know that I saw what he did and that I knew he was planning on leaving. While we were checking out the damage he tried to tell me there wasn't any even though it was obvious he scared up the fender and bumper and the marker light was partly out. At that point the lady who owned the car came out of the drug store and I told her what happened and that the guy was planning to leave. Buddy got upset and loud and when I asked him if he wanted to make something of it he backed down. With that I went back to my truck to write down my name and number and give it to the lady. My wife looked at me and said you do realize that guy is bigger than you but to me it didn't matter because I was right. Funny how a guy can feel so much bigger when he's right not to mention not too smart at times.

I once parked my pickup angle-in-parking-slot in downtown and went into a lunch counter and when I returned I found a note on my windshield that a city bus has sideswiped my rear bumper and left the scene.
The note had been written by a passer-by who saw the event and he left his contact info. I called him and thanked him and he told me the bus number and exact time of day, so I called the city mgr who notified police who came out and investigated and took pictures. The bus was called on the radio and required to return to the scene and the police took note that a scrape on the side of the bus exactly matched the height/position of my truck's rear bumper which was damaged.
The city bus manager asked if I wanted them to take employer action against the driver but as the driver told me after he returned to the scene that he'd felt a "bump" but thought it was a person slapping the side of the bus to signal him to stop...and he did stop at the next corner and a person boarded at that time...so he thought no more of it... and the bus manager told me the guy had no other complaints and had driven the bus for several years.... so I simply told them if they'd fix my truck's damage I'd be fine with that and let it go.
Point is: Thank YOU for helping that lady...and THANK WHOEVER it was that did the "right thing" and left me a note. I believe in the Basic Good of our Country and our People. And I WILL "pay it forward".

With all this talk of getting old, CRS and your golden years, I'm surprised I was able to find this little ditty from the past.
Enjoy

My experience is a bit different. I'll go out to the shop or garage to get something, wind up looking at and fixing something else and bring back something I didn't go for or need anyway.

You ever put something up in a place you know will be visible so you can't miss it. Then later look all over and can't find it?

I'm convinced there are many small doorways into other dimensions in both of my garages. I'm constantly setting something down, having it disappear, then later reappear right where I thought it was, but could not find it earlier.

Either that or gremlins swipe stuff because they get a real kick out of having me tear my shop apart looking for an item, then, after I have wasted an inordinate amount of time searching, they put it back, all the while laughing their evil little heads off.;)

I responded with the second and she was not amused.
I've heard your memory is the third thing to go......just can't remember what the first 2 are anymore
